This is a beautiful, well designed campground. The setting could not be better. My only issue is that some of the sites that can be reserved for trailers cant actually accommodate a trailer. We have a 20 ft trailer and had reserved site #33. I tried several approaches but the road is just too narrow to unwind the turn that was necessary to back the trailer in. I finally gave up and drove over the the camp managers site and explained the situation. They were extremely helpful and were able to find us an available site where we could get the trailer in. They epitomized excellent customer service! If you are camping here with a travel trailer, do not reserve site #33. The manager told me a number of people have trouble getting a trailer in there if they are towing with a full size pickup.

Personally wont recommend site 33 as its super tight. We also found it hard to set up our tents on the slope.

Several of the sites felt/looked private because of the abundance of aspen trees separating campsites. Mosquitos are prevalent right now (mid July 2023).

In late June 2021, this was an excellently run campground. I have never before been in a campground where I saw the camp hosts so regularly patrolling. They stopped off within a half hour of choosing a site and gave a thorough bear warning. That was as it should be, as there are regular bear visits in this campground. Water and bathrooms are easy access and there's even at least one place to put your recycling. We found the campground to have many beautiful sites, and even the small sites felt secluded from the neighbors. Sitting quietly around my dying campfire, I was able to watch a research-collared female muledeer walk around the campground perimeter. The Belding's ground squirrels are cheeky--I suspect people feed them; when you don't, they give up on you. Approaching the weekend, people got a little loud and the bathrooms were suddenly not as clean, but that's due to the guests, of course. As effective and on top of things as the camp hosts were, there's just no way for them to keep inconsiderate dudes from peeing on the toilets seats (they try! there were even signs in the bathroom about it!) . . . The campground is easy to get to, and easy to get in and out of. That was a good feature for us because we wanted to explore the area in general and not be tied to one spot. It was convenient to get to Mono Lake and Mammoth Lakes. Loved it!
