Dennis Hauff, one of the park rangers for the summer of 2024, and his wife, were super helpful and welcoming when I stayed for a week. The campsite was clean and ready for my arrival. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and a water station was near my site. This campground is remote enough that I get the solitude away from technology that I am seeking, there's a creek nearby that you can hear from just about every campsite which presents a calming over oneself, and just being among the trees and all things nature, it's a great campground. The campground is just a short drive to Bishop or Mammoth, and of course there's Tom's Place at the turn off for any last minute things you might need(ice). Little Lakes Valley is just a short distance up the road and that provides ample hiking and exploring. Rock Creek Canyon is an amazing place to spend some quality time away from the city and East Fork is the perfect campground to stay at.

Wonderful stay at East Fork, I visited in October to see the fall colors and it was gorgeous! Stayed in spot 50 which was right next to a bathroom (that was very clean!). The camp host was not too far from the site and the river was a short walk as well. Will definitely be back!

East Fork Campground is an excellent area at around 8900 feet in elevation. Dennis and Terry are outstanding campground hosts in 42-54 campsite loop. We had them over for dinner on Saturday night with a group of 33 Men & Boys from the California Area. The sites were celan and well cared for in addition to clean and welcoming restrooms. The weather was warm, but quite a pleasant change from Bishop which was clocking 108 degrees F. We hope to return to the area in Summer 2024. Thanks!

Plenty of bathrooms. Heated bathrooms. Sinks/ faucets. FLUSHING TOILETS! Camp hosts are awesome! They do a great job keeping the grounds in order, always stocked up on firewood $8 a bundle, (no change available so bring 5's and 1's), and always friendly. You feel like you are visiting extended family. Very pretty Campground. Many of the spaces have good tree cover, but many are open to the sky. The campers that come here are normally very quiet and respectful of others solitude in my experience. I recommend Rock Creek Lakes Resort (only 5 minutes up the road) for lunch (brisket, burgers, dogs and PIE)--til 3:00, they do breakfast too (and rent Cabins), it is attached to a nicely stocked little store (Beers to hooks to books to souvenirs). Staff is super friendly and seem to enjoy hearing your adventures. Little lakes Valley hike is not very hard--not much altitude gain (just acclimate yourself to the altitude for a couple nights before you head out)--best bang for the buck hike, very scenic the whole way back into the valley. You can stop at any one of the 8+ lakes along the way and be satisfied with the view and distance hiked. It is pretty popular, so be patient the parking expectations. Tom's Place (15-minute drive at the bottom of the hill) has an old diner-type restaurant and mini market for many last-minute grocery needs (open til 8:00). I haven't eaten there yet, but they are always friendly when I have shopped. Of course, Rock Creek Lake is pretty and tranquil, and has not been very populated in my experience, and just past the RCLR. I usually go during the week, so I'm assuming less visited than during the weekends. If something more urgent comes up, Bishop is about 35 minutes drive, Mammoth is about the same.

Great campground - lots of variety. Flushing toilets AND heat AND potable water! Was up there for Fall color and the first snow of the season.

Camp ground was clean and quiet. Site 50 was awesome, partial shade from the trees, close to the bathroom but felt very secluded. The River on the campground was beautiful for morning walks and we were a short drive from hikes in the area. Definitely recommend checking out the sites on google maps terrain view if you want an area in the trees as not all of the sites are and some sites are definitely smaller than others.

Only one toilet was open near my campsite #50. That was the only issue and it wasn’t a big one. It’s always a great visit.

The camp host was awesome. We had a fantastic site. We saw a bear but the bear box worked so no encounters. Very clean. Nice to have flush toilets!
