Hosts were very rude and yelled at you if they thought you were not following their rules. Bathrooms were only checked every other day and never actually cleaned. Trash emptied and TP added. Other campers were very friendly. Sites have plenty of room and are cleaned when a new reservation begins.

All was well except one not so small detail. The fire pit is way too tall for practical cooking over the fire. We needed high, searing heat to cook two of our planned meals. It would take a huge amount of wood to build a fire that would cook over a high heat. And really, you want more coals than flame so your food doesnt end up with unwanted soot on it. So, I piled a layer of rocks/boulders in the pit to build my fire upon and got by just fine. But who designed that pit? Stop it. The presence of the cooking grate showed that the intent at manufacturing was to cook over the fire but it would seem the manufacturer doesnt understand the basics of campfire cooking.

Everything was excellent for the two weeks we were there. No complaints.

We had an amazing and easy camping experience at Upper Sage Flat. Our property manager, Don, was extremely welcoming and gave us all helpful tips and info for our stay. The camp site was perfect and we had the creek water rushing past to provide the perfect background noise.

It was lovely to be by the fast moving stream and the cool shade the tall trees provided. The site we had was close to drinking water. The fire ring was great and the tent site was level.
The negative was we were down wind of the toilet, hence the smell. If you can book a site the farthest up hill from the toilets that would be best.
