The volunteers running the campground were extremely kind, helpful, and polite. The campground restrooms were kept very clean and the sites all well maintained. I look forward to staying here again in the future, had the best time.

Great campground with a feeling of privacy between sites due to the foilage/spacing

Very spacious and private campsites. Great hiking throughout the park. The historic row of century houses was fascinating.

I had a great experience at this campground. My site was reaked and clean. My firepit was cleaned before i arrived. The sites have a great amount of space between them. Campground was quiet, Showers were clean. Woods were beautiful.

I was really surprised with how hot the showers were and how it never went cold. That’s great for camping because I hate cold showers. The campground was clean and the employees were very nice. It wasn’t loud. Quite peaceful. Granted it did rain during our stay and was chilly in the month of June. That isn’t the campgrounds fault though. I do recommend and my family and I will be camping here again. Do make sure you book way ahead of time as spots fill quickly.

Campground was nice. This should NOT be a National Park. Its a hodgepodge with highways and railroads running through it. I understand the history and necessity in its preservation, but this can be accomplished as a State Park. I always say, its a National Park for a reason (usually because its awe inspiring). This park does not inspire anything. Need to update the signage. Its been three years now. Better yet: revert back to a National Lakeshore. Problem solved. All the signs are there.

Easy access to beaches and trails. Relatively quiet considering the proximity to highways. Nice shaded and cloistered campsites.

I thought the campground was going to be very crowded but with the trees and shrubs, it felt very private! The half grill/bonfire combo is great too!

Campsites and facilities are nice, but we went in July and have never had such a bad experience anywhere with mosquitoes. Not smoke, nor fire, nor deet could deter them. Campers beware!

Campground was clean and easy to get to. The park is spread out into different parts, so it’s good to have a car you can take to the different beaches

The campsites were beautiful, secluded and spaced out. However, we prefer electric and water hookup.

Good campground! Well maintained, nice bathroom facilities and even a washbasin outside for dishes and such. Downsides are the sites are close to each other, and it could use another shower or two. There were many families camping when I visited and there was always a line for showers in the morning.

My family and I stayed here for two nights in July for our first camping trip. Aside from a train nearby it was very peaceful at night. I would suggest ear buds if youre sensitive to nature sounds when trying to sleep, but that is typical with any campground. It was also super close to the lake and a supply store which was very convenient for some items we forgot. Overall my family and I had a wonderful time and were thinking of making it a yearly tradition to come here!
