We first enjoyed the film at the visitors center to help us get oriented. We loved eating supper at the Dune Ridge bathrooms / picnic tables before watching the sunset with our toes in Lake Michigan on Kemal Beach. The Dunewood camp ground greeter was very helpful with check-in and orientation. We enjoyed the hot showers, restrooms and potable water.

Very nice campsites. Clean restrooms and showers. Nice dishwashing station. Close to the beach. Stores for supplies close by.

The hosts are better. Campsites cleaner. However- the campground and the park need a publicized Lost and Found for each. We have lost cherished campground equipment with no one to contact about it. We have even driven back to try to find it. We have gone to the Park Headquarters and Visitor Center to check, but there is no way to contact the host.

Only complaint was the mosquitos - but to be expected in the woods. Campsites are wonderful, facilities clean and staff welcoming!

Site stated was for 55’ but with the wood poles we had to squeeze our 35’ RV in side ways making the front end and the back end of RV up against the bush /tree/ weeds all around .Storm came that night dropped large branches on top of our RV and we feared could damage our solar panel so left early evening. Since we left in hurry ended up leaving some of our leveling blocks and when came back next day for it they were gone . There are many spots that would be great and actually be 55’ for large motor home but they were filled with TENTS LOTS OF TENTS IN ALL THESE SPACES. Spoke with another motorhome owner who had same issue we did with site and said he talked with a couple others who had same issue too. Our experience was awful and I tell people avoid Indiana Dunes National
Park campground go to State Park as it is much better and big sites for motorhome and plenty of room.
Much better

This is real camping in a tent with no electricity and in the woods, not being right next to another camper and having privacy.Cooking over a wood fire and enjoying the quiet of the night and the rustling of the leaves. All you need to bring is food, firewood, and a tent.

The campground amenities are excellent. The campsites are good too. However there is constant train noise which does not give you the feeling of isolation.

This was a great tent camping site. The sites were spacious and well shaded without being overgrown. Watch out for poison ivy, though. The bathroom facilities were new and clean. We brought our bikes and biked the mile to the lake several times. The campground was located just out of town and all of the locals we spoke with were so friendly. Also on weekend, there are two pizza trucks set up at the gas station by the entrance - what a great treat. There was also great ice cream at one of the shops by the entrance (he had donuts from a local bakery in the am). I highly recommend.

Great showers and camp sink. All the sites were flat, tree covered and private. I highly recommend to anyone to stay there if visiting the park! Friendly staff too! Accommodated dogs!
