We love camping here! The sites are always clean and well prepared for setting up right away. While the other sites are somewhat close by, they are far enough apart that we never hear other conversations at night. There are no spots with water or electric, but each circle of sites has a restroom building with private stalls and showers, as well as dishwashing stations, so cleaning up is easy :). The Lake Michigan beach is a short drive away, as well as numerous hiking trails.

A clean well kept campground. I enjoyed the privacy of the walk in site.Close to a beach and an easy drive to West Beach and other places.

Camp sites were clean and well spaced apart. Camphosts were friendly and helpful. South Shore train service runs close by the campground so be aware of some train noise.

On our numerous cross country trips of the years, we have always stayed in this campground, always in the walk-in tent only area. We enjoy the spacious sites, relative quiet (except for the trains), and privacy. The bathroom is conveniently close. We enjoy the proximity to the lake, taking evening or early morning strolls. We will return whenever our itinerary allows.

The facilities were excellent and well cared for, and the walk in tent sites were nice and secluded.

Excellent shower and bathroom facilities. The cleaning folks were friendly and did a great job. Wish there was a little more presence from the hosts/ rangers for campers that were loud/ profane.

Camping - we were there at peak heat and tenting no less. The campground hostess were very friendly and helpful. The walk in tent site was a great size. Bathroom was clean, Shower - plan to hang everything because no dry area or bench. We went on the Cowles Bog Trail which was a good hike but ran into mega flies once we got to the sand dune - West beach. Would have liked to have done more hiking but the heat index of 104 drained us. We relaxed at the public beach house and for some reason no flies there!

Campsite was nice and quiet. Plenty of space for tent etc. There's a full picnic table and firepit with a grate which we used to cook our dinner. Bathrooms were very clean and there was a waterbottle refill station as well. Only stayed for one night, but all in all it was a great experience and we'd definitely stay here again.
