Great place to camp. Dunewood is a very clean campground with exceptionally helpful staff.

We are older and no longer camp, but we like the evening bonfire/cookout experience when we're at the Dunes. So we rented a campground for two nights and had two lovely evenings with our pals. Two of them had recently lost family members and it was good to see them smile again.

The park ranger at the check in was super sweet and very informative. Had such a relaxing weekend and the campground is very beautiful! Cant wait to come again.

A perfect stopping point for our travels between Iowa and Vermont. A beautiful campground near the shores of Lake Michigan. And as a Veteran, the America the Beautiful pass saved us 50% ($12.50). Well be back.

It was a full campgrounds and once quiet hours hit you could hear crickets! It was great. The bathrooms have lukewarm water at best, but are decent. The bathrooms also are decent. Both are cleaned daily in the morning. The camp sink by the bathrooms was also wonderful. I will be back for sure!

nice campground with good sites and facilities. Do have to listen to background trains during the night, but the campground is located near an industrial area.

The sites were spacious and there were mature trees between sites that provided some privacy. The restroom was clean and well maintained, and we appreciated that the showers were individual rooms. The showers were large and included an adequate number of hooks for clothing and towel, a built in bench, and a separate area to change clothes. The water pressure was great in the shower. It took a bit of time for the water to warm up, but once it did it was very warm. The campground was within walking/bicycling distance to the Dunes National Park. We hiked in the Park and out to the shoreline/beach. Lovely views. The campground was within easy walking distance to the commuter train station. We rode the train into Chicago to visit the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry - wonderful! The train was very clean, quiet, and efficient, and the staff were helpful. There's a grocery store/restaurant right outside the campground as well as a gas station that sells snacks, sundries, and firewood.
