Lots of trees offered privacy from neighbors. Running water, flush toilets and hot showers made camping very comfortable. The campground was small so the bathroom was close. It was quiet also. A treat was to see the wild turkeys in the morning. The campsite was neat.

very nice ,relaxed, quiet outdoor experience , with thoughtful volunteer campground hosts who went out of their way to provide us with information about things to do in the area , and see to our safety in high winds and the dust storm.

Many lot depths are not noted on the listings, resulting in filtering with a lot depth showing no spots available making it difficult to know that there are tons of decently-deep lots for back in and many pull thrus. Super nice and clean with well-spaced lots. The bathrooms and showers were the nicest we have seen and even have an outside utility sink behind and a bench and outlet in front. Only downsides were a bit of road noise and trains every so often and not knowing upon arriving if any spots are available. We stayed in the Douglas loop.

Couldnt set up tent due to wheels on trailer and HAD to park on tar. It rained at 4am! Spent my rest of the time sitting on the bench during the rain by the restroom. Should be an exception for wheeled tent trailers being towed by motorcycle to park so tent stakes can be driven in. (6 needed)

I accidentally booked an RV site for a tent, which was pretty rough setting a tent up, but that was my mistake. Our issues were mainly with the fact that there was no grass or any space at all for the kids to play. It was all just dirt mixed with a very small amount of gravel. We were also sent on a wild goose chase looking for a park pass. We were told to go to the marathon across from the park and they only had the annual passes. The other places we were sent to had no idea what we were talking about. We were finally able to find one at the visitors center. We also saw a couple employees several times before we bought fire wood at a local gas station and after they saw we bought wood elsewhere they told us we couldve gotten it from them for a lot cheaper. This was my first time camping solo with my kids, so its just growing pains. For future reference though these things may be helpful for other first time campers. Overall we had a good trip. The restrooms and shower rooms were great. The rangers were nice. It was extremely quiet and peaceful and we felt very safe. We wont camp here again because of the dirt and lack of grass, but if that doesnt bother you then its a great place to be!
