Gorgeous campground in a fantastic location. I rode my bicycle all around and had a relaxing time. Still open for fall camping in late October, I was delighted to get a hot shower on a cold morning. The camp host was very friendly and gave me information about fun things to go do.

We went in early April, so the campground was fairly empty. It was a rainy day. The campground is clean. There is a nearby gas station and store where you can get food, snacks, firewood, beer, there is also a restaurant near the entrance Of the campground. The bathrooms were warm and clean. The showers were decent. Good pressure. They are lit up all night long. Otherwise there are no lights in the Campground. Hours, there are no electrical outlets. You are between an interstate highway and a fairly busy train track that blows its whistle frequently. Keep that in mind. This is not the serene wilderness, quiet solitude.

This is our home away (but close enough) to home. We enjoy going to the beach (very close to the campground), hanging around the campsite, and getting soft serve ice cream from the fast station on the corner.
The campground is clean, the spots aren’t super close to one another, the bathrooms/showers are always clean.
There is a family that sells firewood down the street from the campground that’s approved to use to burn. A whole wheelbarrow for $20!

We enjoyed a magical few days at Dunewood, with tall canopy trees for shade, nicely spaced sites, clean restrooms and showers and water bottle filler station. Only a mile from the beach, it was a great spot from which to explore. Due to the shade, we unfortunately had to run our generator, as there was no electric in the loop.

Sites were spaced out so you could enjoy camping in the woods. Not far from the campground there is an excellent birding trail.

The best campground I have ever stayed.

It was a nice place to stay. Things were very busy but folks followed the rules and cooperated with the noise limits. The campground itself is really driving distance to the lake shore, which is a drawback.
