We booked site 62. Took the South Shore train from Chicago to Dunewood cg, jumping off the Beverly Shores stop where we then walked about 0.5 miles to the site with our gear. Spacious with all the amenities you need - nearby toilets, wash basin, spigot and even a water bottle refill station! There is a camp store / wine and spirits store across the main street next to the train stop. Very convenient in case you forget anything. They even carry fuel and do bike rentals. A couple of food options within walking distance as well but they have strange hours (maybe because it wasnt peak season yet?)Note it is a hike down from the parking lot so be prepared to do a couple of trips if youre car camping. Camp hosts are great and helpful. A bit noisy from the nearby trains but nothing a few ear plugs cant help with. Loved our stay

Beautiful, well-designed campground. But we had a real issue with noise, even though we were in a walk-in site well away from the main loop. The first night, the site adjacent to ours was occupied with 8 people who partied through much of the night. The second night, we thought all would be quiet, but our "neighbors" arrived at 2:00 AM and noisily set up camp, including hammering stakes into the ground. The campground would benefit from closing the gate to new arrivals at 9:00 or 10:00 PM, as some other campgrounds do. Combined with the noise from the nearby highway, this was not a restful place to commune with nature. It's a shame, because the location is lovely otherwise.

Beautiful campground with easy access to supplies and a very short bike ride to the beach. Next time I will look into taking a day trip to Chicago via the South Shore rail.

The spaces were a little closer to others than I would have liked, but if the trees had all their leaves I think it would have been just fine. Super clean spaces with picnic tables and handy structures that we used to hang our trash bags.
