We love the solitude at Dunewood nestled in amongst the vegetation. The train running nearby through the night blowing its horn is a nice addition to remedy a good night's sleep. Make sure to stop by the general store for firewood vs the gas station. It's kiln dried hardwood vs green something that just sizzles. Kemil Beach is nice for a good view of a metropolis floating on the water.

Campsites were spacious and wooded and lovely. Our site was level and had plenty of room for our trailer and our motorhome. The showers were hot. The only complaint we had was the bugs. They were terrible, but I think it was because it was hot and rainy. The beach was beautiful and easy to reach.

The whole campground was very clean! No trash in fire rings or on ground around the campground. Restrooms and showers were also free of trash and although older were kept clean. Beautiful mature trees between campsites with enough space between sites to feel almost private. Staff was very friendly and came to our campsite to introduce themselves and make sure we were checked in and happy with our site. Check in was super easy! Since we reserved our site online all we did for check in was confirm our name and dates reserved. No electric hookups but I brought my power station to recharge my phone and other electronics I had with me. To the volunteers, thank you for all you do to keep our parks beautiful!

Hosts were awesome and very helpful. Campsites were clean and level, we did not use the washrooms. Dump and fill were easy and convenient. If it had electric I would have given it 5 stars.

We were there at the end of the season. The weather was not the best but the campground was sheltered from the wind and had everything we needed

We were in site 21, we parked diagonally and found this helped with leveling the trailer, the site was adequate for our 27' trailer, some of the other sites were much smaller and a few looked like a larger one would have fit comfortably. The camp host was very helpful and came through our loop frequently. The bathrooms and showers were clean. There is potable water available, and the fountain near the bathrooms is working. They have weekend programs that are guided tours and worth looking into, the schedule is posted near the restrooms.

Dunewood campground is always a wonderful experience. The facilities are always clean and working. I tent-camped in October, and it was nice to have a hot water shower during those days when it was under 40 F at night. The grounds are beautifully laid out, with ample space between camp sites. The campers were all well-behaved. The dunes and Lake Michigan were totally awesome. October is a great month for seeing fall colors, and the combination of brisk fall air and waves on the lake are inspiring. Thank you Dunewood staff for all that you do!

Our Memorial Day weekend at Dunewood CG was lovely! Our site was spacious and well-shaded, perfect for the warmer weather! We loved the proximity to the beach, about one mile directly north on Broadway. We hiked most of the trails throughout the national park, as well as on the Chellberg Farm. Dunewood CG is located almost equally between Chesterton and Michigan City, each being approximately seven miles away. Our favorite campground in Indiana!

We absolutely love Dunewood Campgroud and intend to keep coming back! Both loops have great sites that are large, well separated/private, extremely well taken care, and very shaded. The beach is just a walk or bike ride away, and plenty of other beaches are just a short drive. Our kids can roam and play safely, the bathrooms and showers are clean enough, and the quiet hours seem to be well followed. **We are tent campers, so keep this in mind when reading.
