We have been to this lookout before and we always enjoy it. However, we were not informed the gate would be locked this time. It would be useful to have a gate key or combo lock to all ease of carrying equipment. Otherwise, we would have planned to just bring backpacking gear.

I was never given a door code so could not access the lookout. Very disappointing. We tried to get in contact with recreation.gov for hours. I have yet to receive even a refund for my stay... Do not book this place, it is a scam.

There was no keypad door code in the reservation email so I wasnt even able to get inside. I didnt have any service at the lookout and the phone number for the call facility option wasnt working when I did have service.

Great location with an awesome trail right from the lookout, VERY rough 4 mile road to get there, 4x4 for sure. Also there were several people that came up the road while we were there, so you want to keep the gate shut.
