This is a great site - you get a little peek of lake between the trees, great fire pit placement, and the trail to the lower loop and beach runs right next to the site. We stayed in mid-Sept so it was fairly quiet - except for generators running all the way up to 10pm - just don't be that person... It ruins the experience of a good fire and stargazing, folks!

Beautiful campground with beach access. Hills Resort is just down the road from the campground and has delicious food.

From Hills Resort & all the way to Priest Lake marina, the shoreline forest service land is still awesome. Thank-you to all the locals that take endless care of the neighborhood. The forest service restrooms & toilets were noticeably cleaner this year too. In Sept, you shouldn't need reservations. Keep an eye on day old empty sites, people often don't show up & you can snag a nice site. Smoke in Aug / Sept is hit & miss. It doesn't bother me. Smoke in the old days was due to field burning & these days we have so many #pnw wild fires.Didn't see any bears this yr & bees and mosquitoes were low key. Saw two coyotes coming up from the lake while on a bike ride. Bicycling towards Oulet Bay is always a fav for me. Little dust & traffic & many fun views. Best food this year. Huckleberry cinnamon rolls at Chimney Rock cafe. :) PL adventures for me started somewhere in the 50s at Priest Lake lodge.Take care & see you at the lake!Bill

We went for our camping trip with our dog for his end of life trip. He is very old and has heart failure and this was his last camping trip. The camping host is a complete witch. My dog is old and dying and I tried to take him out in the water and she got up in our face saying he needed to be leashed.How can you leash a dog in the water,how can he swim like that? He is an old dog with a hole in his heart trying to take the last swim of his life and she ruined a very special time. I would not recommend this campground if you have dogs because the host will stalk you and make sure your dog is a prisoner and not allowed to be free at any time.

Its a beautiful campground and the host did a good job keeping the grounds clean. I do wish they would enforce the part about not leaving stuff on the beach overnight, everyday huge groups had 75% of the beach consumed with their stuff to save their spot. Not fair to the rest of the campers wanting to enjoy the beach.

Wonderful stay at Luby Bay thanks to an awesome site and great weather. The bathroom garbage was emptied a few times throughout the day and the soap was refilled too - I've never seen a bathroom so well maintained. Thank you!

Great site in the "lower lower loop." We were close to the lake and beach. Camp hosts were efficient and helpful.

We loved camping here. Site #31 on upper loop was huge and we felt we had good privacy. Our kids loved riding their bikes around the paved loop as well. Highly recommend camping there!

Incredibly quiet and well kept campground. Check in was just show up and setup. Leave no trace ethics. Best part, they provide bear boxes! Just a. Short drive or walk down to the lake but not very accommodating for people with walking disability.

Facilities were clean. The campground host was intrusive. She was a know-it-all and her experience was always better than anybody elses. Weve been going to Luby for 30 years, and the best hosts are there when you need them and friendly not competitive about experiences.

The camp host is awesome. She is a hard worker and friendly. We have been going to Luby Bay for twenty years and she is the best yet!

Always a great campsite. I have been coming here since I was a kid, and I love bringing my family here However, the camp host was about as intrusive as I have ever seen. She told us there was an extra fee for using the beach (not true) and tried to slap more fees on us for other things. While I was trying to set up, she came up to me and started reading a list of the rules. I told her I had been coming here for years, and she had to flex saying she had been here for longer. Another time we were up her, she left a passive aggresive note on our windshield telling us to keep our tires in the driveway, even though it was barely off. Honestly, a campground host needs to be there to help, not be intrusive. I want to keep taking my family here, but if she is back next summer, I will find somewhere else to camp.

Wonderful campground. Beautiful lake with a great beach. Fifteen minute walk to Hills Resort. Plenty of hiking and biking trails around the area.

Our family has been going to luby bay for 30 years and it seems to be going down hill, the beach used to be kept up and clean and the dogs used to have to be on a leash but that's not the case anymore, we used to see the camp host all the time now we never see them, also the fire pits are not being cleaned and the camp tables are not in good shape. We love going to Priest lake and do wish they would get some people in their that care about the property.

It was a good trip. I was a bit confused that the sites that say they ate first come first serve on the app are able to be reserved, but other than that it was great.

So nice to meet the new host. She referred to the campground as "My Luby". We were impressed by the work that she put in to prep the campground. We finally have a host who is friendly and does not give" special" treatment to a chosen few. She plays by the rules and we are just fine with that. We have been staying at Luby Bay for40 years and thanks to Catherine we are loving the campground again.Jeanette and Steve Schwab

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
