Many trees had been taken down and not much shade at campgrounds. The restroom was always clean! The campground host was friendly and informative. I expected the ranger to come through and didn’t in 3 days there.

There are no signs to the campground. When we finally arrived our site was not clean there was garbage on site. There was human feces and toilet paper less than 5 feet away from the fire pit and table. Even if the site wasn't disgusting there was no place to put up even a 2 man tent. We tried to find the camp host but couldn't find anyone on either loop. We stopped to use the toilet and found out why people were not using it. I couldn't even go inside. On top of that the water pump was not working and we had no prior notice so we had no access to water. We ended up walking away and forfeiting the 50$ it cost to reserve. Luckily we were able to find a primitive spot about an hour down the creek. It also had garbage but was much cleaner. The campground was a waste of my money and a health hazard.

Its a nice forest service campground. Pretty easy to find, convenient to the interstate highway. Reservation was all handled correctly. Would go back. There are a lot of people enjoying water recreation in the near-by river

Campground was so-so. First of all, there was no signage telling us to turn right to the campground UNTIL AFTER you have turned right to the campground. And that is after driving past the road due to no sign telling us to turn B4 & where to turn. Very dangerous fire ring as it is sunk in the ground. Very easy to have fallen, human or 4 legged, into and been seriously hurt. Thankfully, we didn't have any children, of any age, with us & our dog managed to stay clear. We were there in August & spent all of our time driving in the mts as the entire river is mostly landlocked. What "public" places there are were so full, that 1st of all you couldn't park anywhere near the river--& if you did find a place to park, the water & "beaches" were full of people! It was very hot, so that was to expected, but what we didn't expect was how little access the public has to experience what the internet described as a beautiful river. And speaking of beautiful--it wasn't. Very disappointing & disgusting at the litter everywhere. The vault toilets were filthy! And I don't mean just the toilet. All in all we won't be returning.
