This is our second year camping at Sand Lake. The camp hosts Ralph and Chris were amazing. We really appreciate the work they are putting into maintenance around the campground. We like the set up of the campsites and the spaces between them. The beach is clean with lots of soft sand and a volleyball net. The swimming section of the lake is large enough for everyone to have space.

Facilities in excellent condition and most sites quiet and private. Campground host helpful and friendly!

We love Sand Lake and have been coming here since before we had children over 40 years ago. We now bring our grandchildren! We appreciate the National Forest setting and the sites that allow us a bit of privacy from other campers. One thing we noticed this year is that the restrooms need just a bit of an update - such as some new paint. We also noticed that the lake didn't seem to be as clear as in years past, although that is something that nature is responsible for.

Quiet campground, sites are very private. Flush toilets and showers were very clean. The showers are free, not coin operated. The camp hosts were pleasant and helpful. Bugs were bad. It is a nice spot to kayak also.
