Gulpha Gorge is a beautiful campground. We really enjoyed our stay. The national park was awesome, great history, great vistas, great trails. We will definitely be back, and will highly recommend it to all of our friends. Thank you Hot Springs National Park.

Gulpha Gorge campground is beautiful and located close to everything! The trails are easily accessible, downtown a a very short drive, and you are close enough to go anywhere youd like in town. The campground is well maintained and the bathhouse is locked for campers only. Our only issue was our site (#38) was a bit tricky to back into with our RV due to trees around the site. We had to get some assistance from a kind stranger to help us back in and navigate. Had we been driving a full size truck, or our camper been any longer (ours is 27.5 ft) we would have never gotten in that site with the trees. Some sites are definitely better suited for smaller rigs/vehicles than others. The gentleman who helped us was from Texas. They were in a full size flat bed truck with a much larger camper and were unable to park in their original/reserved site because they couldnt use either of their slides. Luckily someone else didnt show and they moved to their site. Wish these things were noted on the sites. Otherwiseexcellent campground.

There is no personal on site to check in with. The roads are very tight and lined with trees, in fact there was a tree near the entrance to our campsite that made backing into the site extremely difficult, the tree show many scars from previous campers encounters with the tree. There is an over 3 foot rise from front to back of the site, the utilities are located at the rear of the campsite on the highest spot on the campsite, meaning the sewer lines had to run uphill. My rear sewer outlet was 1 foot lower than the sewer connection, my front sewer outlet was 3 feet lower than the sewer connection. This is a very stupid set up, it is impossible to drain waste tanks. One of the restroom facilities was out of order.Since the park is not staffed, there were people sleeping in cars in the day use area.We will never stay here again.

Gulpha Gorge is in an extremely great location to visit Hot Springs National Park. It has a beautiful creek and hiking trails. One problem is that I could not see one level site. This is the first campground that we had to actually go up on three blocks and even then I don't think we were level. Because of the location we would go back but I wouldn't want to be sloping for too many days. I would also try to get a creek site. I love National Parks.

This campground is really nice. Great pads, full hookups in great shape and just really nice in general. I wish they had firewood onsite and then we had some bad luck with the nearest restroom being remodeled for the year. We're in a popup with no bathroom, so it would have been really nice to know when we booked as we picked that site just for it's proximity to the bathroom. Even still, fantastic campground.

The overall experience was good however, most of the camping sites are not very level and very tight to back into! As for the sites, had there not been cooperation from other guests assisting in backing into sites there may have been damage to RVs and vehicles due to large trees near the sites and road ways. Restrooms were maintained and kept clean but at this time there was no shower facilities so tent campers beware. If you are into craft beer a visit to the Superior Bathhouse Brewery is a must as their beer was excellent and is the only brewery in a National Park!

The trails start from the campsite and there is a tough trail and an easy trail that lead to town. The Ranger was quite nice and very knowledgeable about the area. The only negative is the the drain to dump is too far back and we were not able to use it.

This campground is in a convenient location for visiting the national park but be prepared, it is extremely noisy. A main road runs right next to the campground, and though it does get a little quieter at night, there is a constant stream of traffic, including large trucks using air brakes and other vehicles racing along the road. Staying next to the river does help. Some spaces are difficult to get into with larger campers because of trees, but it's a scenic campground.
