For the campsite they should have gotten a poor. The campground needs a face lift. The sites are not level causing those who do not have a leveling jack system on their trailer or in our case motorhome to just hope for the best. Water drained into our AC and we started smelling smoke so we cut it off and it is OK now. You can go to the office in town to make a statement but that is all you will be doing. They will just listen and ignore you. You can change spots if there are any available and you can also repay for those spots paying double. The bath house located on the site where so slimy that you could not touch anything once inside and by all means wear flip flops while there. Use clorox cleanups to get in and out of the doors and hope for the best. These were so bad we dared not even try the bathhouses in town this national park is famous for. I only gave better than poor because the outside natural environment is nice. With the national forest owning the bathhouses in town and making that kind of money on the tower and other items they should do better. We also bought one day and then purchased two other days before we got their and they once they learned the one day was up tried to have out motorhome towed. Not looking at their own records to see we had purchased 2 other days just jumping to conclusions. The lady called me several times but my phone was in the motorhome at the time. When we got back to the motorhome she was there asking why I never answer my phone. She was rude about it even though she already learned of her mistake. We stayed our nights thanking the heavens above it was not hot and we left for the rest of our vacation. Noting to never go there again.

Well maintained campground. Spacing on campsites is tight on north end of the campground and by the creek so you get to hear a lot about your neighbors and their pets at peak times. One shower (each) for men/women so expect queueing if the campground is full. Plenty of toilets across the campground is a bonus.. A lot of traffic on the adjacent road (AK 7) so it can be noisy, even in the late evening.

Ironically the drinking water was turned off at the water fountains. Yes- theres 1 campground shower, but its also the main bathroom for a camping loop so not designed well. The map was inaccurate and had not been updated with the new dumpster location. No ranger/manager found on site (self check in) campground hosts were labeled on or off duty & both of their cars were gone the entire afternoon so I was unable to get answers to questions. I left after one night.

This is a nice place to stay that is close to Hot Springs town. Please note the space #10 is not level at all and our fifth wheel was high in the air. Nice close hikes in the National Forest.

Beautiful camp grounds. Host was very friendly and helpful. Roads are narrow making it difficult backing into campsite. Our campsite was sloped making leveling challenging. Would go back.

There are several sites on the water, these are the nicest. The there are several quite close to the road, these are not so great. One of the bathroom buildings was hidden by shrubs, we didn't locate it until the second day, so thought there was only the shower house.

The campsites don't have much room for tents and are naturally going to be very rocky and sloped. Also, be aware that there are only two showers at the campground, one in each men's and women's bathroom in the lower bathroom house. The nature of the valley makes cars very loud when driving on the road right next to the campground at night. I think we saw a park ranger once in four days, and no one was ever manning the office. The valley itself is beautiful, and the nearby creek was a hit with the kids. The campground is conveniently located so that it's easy to drive to the north side or south side of the main road through Bathhouse Row. Nearby state parks might have a little better campsites but this campsite is much closer to the national park itself.Nearby Ron Colmans Mining was a big hit with the kids, couldn't walk three feet without tripping over quarts. St. Cathrines State Park had a nice waterfall on a short .6 mile hike about 20 min drive away. The main drag had two amazing ice cream places (Mamoo's and Kilwins), Superior Bathhosue had really good rootbeer made from spring water, and the spring fountain near the overlook drive was nearly always empty for filling. Go there, fill up all your jugs and drink that instead of the campsite water. The campsite water wasn't bad, but it's not spring water.

A unique NP experience. The campground was adequate for our needs. Its proximity to the downtown area is convenient. Sites 20-44 back up to the Gulpha Gorge. The Gangster Museum is a must do if you want a history lesson on the area. It put everything in perspective for us as we explored the area. Bathhouse Row was filled with history and spa experiences. We opted for a couples mineral bath and were entranced by the experience. The Grand Entrance is a short walk behind Bathhouse Row that gives a different view of downtown. Highly recommend Garvan Gardens. Beautiful grounds and three mesmerizing architectural features.

Nice park, sites are a little close together but over all the park was quiet. Original reservation was for site 10 which was so unlevel there was no way we could get level. Because it was Friday the park was full so just managed then on Saturday we moved to site 17 which was better. We are 38 ft which length wise many sites would accommodate us but it appeared all sites was slanted some worse than others.Location of park was close to restaurants, groceries and activities.

Loud with vehicle traffic. You have to walk through mud to get to the restroom near site #10. There is no sidewalk or not even a trail leading to the restroom which forces you to walk through the grass and mud in places.Webpage is clunky and barely functions to allow an informed decision on a campsite.

We were in site 10. The grade going into the site was steep uphill and fortunately the front landing gear on our 32 foot 5th Wheel could extend enough to level front and back (side to side was level). The turns in the campground were very sharp, so big rigs need to be extremely careful. I cannot comment on the restroom, we did not use them. The campground was clean and trash containers we emptied 2 times a day. It is located near a road and you have road noise day and night. The campground is in a beautiful setting. The 3 star rating is because of the very steep grade in the site.

Location was what we were after. Sites very close together. Our site was almost impossible to get level at due to incline. Upon reading other reviews, being along creek would help with this. No shower in bathhouse, but full hook ups at each site made it easy to dump tanks and head out. I would stay here again due to proximity to attractions in Hot Springs, but not for a camping experience.

A campground for R.Vs & trailers even though the website mentions tents. No tent pads, little level open areas between or behind sites for tents forcing almost all tents to be set up on parking space. More than half of the parking spaces require the use of blocks to level & chocks to prevent rolling out of the site. And no staff ever was present in the office or in the campground for 2 days.X

Well maintained campground with ideal location for hiking to Hot Springs. Only negative was the slope of the campsites. All campers were not level despite significant jack positions.

We were at site 10. It was very slopey. We used all our blocks and we were still at an angle. We tied several different ways but we could get level. Also the road noise was almost constant. There are definitely better sites that are closer to the creek. It's beautiful but I'll never go again if I have to take site 10.

Nice campground with great campground hosts. Great location to explore Hot Springs. Nice trails for a hike from the campground into Hot Springs. Our site (#10) was so sloped that it made it difficult to level our trailer. This was probably the worst site as far as slope. Most sites were much better so avoid #10. Best sites are near the river. Lots of road noise on Hwy 7 next to the campground. I would definitely come back.

Unfortuneatly, some of the sites are very sloped and hard to get level on for bigger rv's. The site description and pictures do not let you know this before you resevere a site. Also surprised that 20 of the sites were closed for Labor Day weekend when no work was being done. Volunteer camp hosts were great and very helpful.
