Gulpha Gorge is a great campsite for RVers that want to visit Hot Springs. Great walking trails nearby and easy to hike all the way into town. Great stream that flows right by the campground. New shower house recently added. Must do everything on-line. We never saw a ranger in the park and no one came and checked on our site while we were there.

Site 37 was difficult for us to back in our 38 foot 5th wheel. The loop is a single lane one way which makes it hard to maneuver back and forth to get situated. The pad was certainly long enough. Our picnic table was very close to the neighbor’s sewer opening. The pad was pretty level with FHU, firepit, BBQ and cement table.

Site #37 was wonderful and perfect for our small camper. The Gulpha Gorge Creek was beautiful to listen to as we drank our morning coffee, and the trail head is within the campground. I recommend wearing actual hiking shoes since there are inclines and loose rocks in some places. The restrooms were very clean and the water was amazingly hot! We definitely want to explore the area in the spring/summer and would camp here again!!

Love this little campground! Site reserved was impossible to get my trailer backed in because of the trees and narrow road, but the park host placed us in another spot and we have been here 10 days. The hiking trails are awesome, we have been out everyday and walked different trails each day. We have a 38 fifth wheel, beware of site 37 with large trailer, we moved into site 9 and it is great! A must eat in town is Greatful Head Pizza, wonderful pizza and the local beer on tap, sooooo good. We will be back to Hot Springs and Gulpa Gorge Campground.

Nice campground, we booked site 37 which in the description stated that it is 48 feet long. It is, however it doesn't state that there is a light pole and tree on each side of the entrance to the site plus several trees across the road from the site which impede getting into it. We could not get into it and the camp host put us in site 2 for our stay. Not nearly as nice of a site and had a ditch across the road from it which made it a little difficult to get in but we did managed to make it work. The road beside the campground was very busy and loud and the sineage needs to be updated. We missed the entrance and had to turn around and come back. It could have been mowed up but we were there the end of April and I don't know when they start to mow in this area. We are traveling in a 38 foot fifth wheel.I think it government needs to update the campground information to give more description and photos of the sites. You shouldn't have to look through all the reviews to find it.

We were disappointed that there were no showers. Set 37 was very difficult to back our trailer In because of the narrow road, we only have a 25 foot trailer, but we had to go up on the grass in 4 wheel drive to get It Backed in. There should be a warning on the reservation page. Overall, it's a nice campground with some pink trails.

Love the spots along the creek! However, the trees along the driveway made it a bit challenging to back into spot #37. Other than that, we loved it

We stayed here for 3 nights while we explored hot springs. Great spot close to everything. You can walk into town from here but it is a walk over the hill and not for everyone. You will get a lot of walking in hot springs so keep that in mind.We were in site 37 which was a little tight to back into with our 38 ft motorhome. Most of the others are not so tight but the trees in front and on the side make it interesting. We were backed up to the river which is on the lower side away from the road. The sites in the upper side near the road will get road noise and the trucks started rolling through about 6am.Be sure to go to the tower the views are great. Also if youre looking for a quick hike take the trail up to goat rock. You can see for miles from here. Our other favorite place was Garvan Woodland Gardens it is worth a visit. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground in a Motorhome.

The volunteer Camp Host was very helpful and funny. The Campground is beautiful, clean & well maintained. My hope is that with the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling regarding former Native American Lands, that the National Park Service will invite our Native American Brothers & Sisters to return to "The Valley of the Vapors" to celebrate and reestablish our religious sites. The five tribes of the Cherokee Nation plus the Kiowa and Osage are known to have worshipped on Hot Springs Mountain. I have seen where President Theodore Roosevelt had our Kivas filled in with rock that is not native to Hot Springs Mountain. Native Americans worshipped here at least a thousand years prior to DeSoto's arrival.I welcome any reply in these regards.

No safe way to get to hiking trails. The only way to cross the gorge to go hiking is through water/slippery stones. I wish NPS does something to provide a safe way to go to the other side of the gorge. A walk way next to the busy road bridge will help the camper to get to the hiking trails.

What a great little hidden gem! Quiet, hike to town right from campground, awesome little creek for the kiddos to play around. Was perfect for the littles to ride their bikes around and around. Sites are smallish- but with some maneuvers got the 42ft fifth wheel in

Sites are not measured properly online you may get there and your site is too small for your rig. That happened to us but thankfully we were able to change sites. Beautiful campground just a bit tight to get into sites at the river for bigger rvs.

Gulpha Gorge is a great campground tucked in the valley next to downtown Hot Springs. The hikes around that campground are moderately easy and it is about an hour's (+ or -) walk to downtown Hot Springs. If you have a large rig? Some of the sights are tight to back into, but even the large 5th wheels were able to make it into their sites. The onsite washrooms were some of the cleanest I have seen while traveling in this great country. We talked to NP personnel, Rangers, and groundskeepers who were all very approachable, friendly, and had a wealth of local knowledge. There is a treasure hunt of local history if you are into that? Visit the Garven gardens in the spring b/c they are alive with over 180K of tulips, Now, the campground has a main road right next to it so be prepared to hear morning and evening commuter traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, history, bathhouses, and drinking the spring water.

We stayed in site 37 on the creek. There was a large tree at the and that made backing up kind of difficult. We were there for 4 days and the close proximity to downtown was nice but the traffic noise at all hours was crazy. The park is located at the bottom of a hill so the trucks were super loud. The park was clean and there was some hiking but it was steep at times and if you have little kids that need entertainment, this is not the park for you. It seems to be more of a park that people stop at for 1 day and leave.
