Gulpha gorge is a wonderful full hookup national campground with excellent hiking right outside your camper. Was there in the winter so Hot Springs was just the way we like it, slow!!!! Highly recommend staying.

Really beautiful spot, and it's got a heated shower building! Campsite is very sheltered from wind, would recommend this site for any month of the year.

The actual campground sight and location is beautiful! In anyone who has tried to book a site here can find it challenging. That being said when I arrived, my site had a different individuals name on the site post. Where it got confusing and complicated, is there were no site host on duty. Fortunately, one of the parks maintenance personnel came around, and although this was not his duty nor responsibility, he went out of his way to contact his supervisors to see if he could resolve the issue for me. What I did not want to happen was in the middle of the night someone knocking on my door claiming I was occupying their site. After nearly an hour and him making several phone calls finally got a hold of an individual that could confirm that I indeed had the reservation for that night. Otherwise, I wouldve rated this site Five star as excellent.

I had a great stay overall, though I encountered an issue with another camper. Despite this, I would happily return. This was my first time camping, so I wasnt sure how everything would be organized. However, after walking around, I found it easy to navigate. A couple of things to keep in mind: the ground is mostly dirt and small gravel, without any grass. If youre camping in a tent, I recommend bringing a cushion, as lying directly on the ground can be uncomfortable. Check-in is at 2 PM, but my site was empty at noon, so you can set up early as long as the previous guest has left. If they are still there, theres plenty of overflow parking, and you can take a walk on a trail or play in the creek until they leave. I advise setting up and using the bathroom before dark, the streetlights are quite dim. If youre traveling alone, its a good idea to check in with park staff for safety, as they aren't present after hours. The contact number provided will only reach an agent who can leave a message, not a ranger. Although the camping spots are clearly marked, they are not separated by any barriers. Be aware that people may walk through your area to get around, even after dark. Overall, it was a good time and a great stay.

Campsite itself nice and green, but sites too closely-packed, with little screening. One bathroom closed. Yappy dogs. And the placement of "street lamps" in a campground makes no sense.

Such a little Gem of a campground! It gets tight in there backing in but we had no problems and plenty of helpful neighbors at the ready to lend a flashlight!The hiking trails are a must, or just sit and enjoy the beauty that is the creek that runs beside it. You cannot go wrong either way.

Absolutely beautiful park. The ranger checked in with us as we arrived after sunset she was very friendly and polite. We would have definitely stayed longer than our 1 night if time permitted.

Great! Only wish there were sites without electricity that were a little less expensive. Definitely hike the trails to the bathhouses rather than driving. It is a little noisy at night, so try to get a campsite closer to the creek if you are in a tent.

The nearest restroom was closed for renovations, which I wish I'd known before selecting the campsite. The campground was dark and relatively quiet, very easy to find. We arrived late and left early, so we didn't have any interaction with campground hosts or anything.

Sites really aren't conducive to tent camping, very little ground/grass, sites are clearly meant for RVs/trailers. Okay for small tent and short stay. Proximity to busy/loud road meant interrupted sleep.

We had a great time at Gulpha Gorge campground. The host was very nice and the campground is perfectly situated to explore Hot Springs. The hiking trails were great too and it was nice to cool off in the creek after the hiking.

Setting is beautiful, campground is clean, location is perfect for seeing all the sights in and around Hot Springs. We hiked the trails over the mountain to downtown. The National Park staff and volunteer campground host (Ken Blair) were a delight--shared a weath of knowledge and made sure our stay was fantanstic.

I really enjoyed access to all the national park hiking trails right from the campground. All the trails were well maintained and marked. Great cell phone service in the campground and on the trails. The campground is only 11 minutes away from the Northwoods mountain bike trail system. The restrooms were cleaned and restocked daily. Its unfortunate that at least one of the restrooms had not been upgraded to include showers.

Site 11 isnt for tents thats for sure lol but over all it was beautiful. Very peaceful.
