Bathrooms were very clean, campsite was as private as any RV site generally is, the site and grounds were beautiful and well kept. I'm not generally someone that calls RV-ing, "camping", the places I go to camp NO RV can go. That said, this was a very nice place for my wife and I to stay while we checked Hot Springs off of our national park checklist. If you enjoy RVing, I can't imagine you would be disappointed.

Coming into the campground, there was no signage! We drove around several times before finding our site (#3). The site was nice enough, although not very level. The firepit was not in a very nice place. The picnic table blocked its view from the patio of the trailer. Hot Springs was a great little town! Enjoyed that very much. Must go to the Ohio Club bar. Its where Al Capone hung out! Bathhouse Row was interesting. We will be back just for the town!

When we arrived there were 3 off duty camp hosts and no one on duty. The building marked for registration is positioned so that we were too far into the campground for the road to our campsite. The building had no envelopes or directions for us to follow to check in. I found the site number in an email and proceeded to look for the best way to get to the site. The campground is beautiful, the site was fine. It was just the lack of camp hosts presence that was a problem.

Campground is close to everything. Sites and bathrooms were clean. Enjoyed site 3. It felt more private compared to the other sites and close proximity to the bathrooms. Road noise was not a bother in a van.

Grounds are well kept and I found my site to have adequate privacy from other sites.

Our site was near state road so was pretty loud. The facilities were awesome, campsite great . Had electric and water which is great even when tent camping . We made use of both the grill and the fire pit which were in excellent condition

I def think there needs to be WIFI added to this campsite. I could get no cell service while on campgrounds; therefore could not get texts or calls from family. The shower house is a joke. There needs to be one shower house; male and female sides BUT multiple stalls in each bathroom. The curtain didnt shut completely on both sides so I constantly had to keep my hand holding it down. The floor didnt drain well so the as Im showering the floor so filling up faster than it was draining. The noise ordinance for inside the campground it s great, but the frequently traveled road on the other side of the thin tree line is so loud there might as well been no noise ordinance period. I kept waking up everytime someones loud exhaust truck passed or group of motorcycles passed by in the middle of the night. The creek inside the campgrounds should be for campers only. So many people hanging out around my camper just was not a pleasant sight or secure feeling. The price is great but due to these issues we will not be staying here again. It is worth the money to spend more for quieter space, better shower houses, camper only campsites, and WIFI so in case of emergencies you can actually talk to someone.

Well-maintained sites. No showers were a downer, but we have a small trailer and used our own. The hiking is very good with some aggressive hikes and lots of miles you can do through the hills. Some people walked downtown, but we stayed in the forest for our hikes. Some reviews complain of first come first serve, but they must be older reviews because we had no trouble reserving through the recreation.gov website. Recommend you book a site as near to the river as possible as the other side is next to a very noisy highway with large truck traffic.

The Gulpha campground itself is a very nice place, adjacent to nice hiking trails, a beautiful creek and close enough to downtown Hot Springs to be convenient. The one serious issue is the road along side the campground, it is a main thoroughfare, constantly very busy and noisy all day & most of the night especially for tent campers. Not just car engine noise, but large trucks, police sirens, vehicles with all size trailers bouncing over rough spots in the road. For those not accustomed to heavy traffic camp as far from the road as possible, especially if tent camping.

We look for National Park campground but cannot rate this high because of the road noise. We stayed on the side that had the very busy road next to the site. Could smell the diesel fuel from the logging and tractor trailers. It is a shame since the campground was built in 1925 before the road made it impossible to enjoy quite time. I understand the long range goal of the park service is to close the road to through traffic once the city builds an new bypass! We are hopeful this happens soon because other than the road noise/traffic this is a special place! Bathrooms and area was very clean, nice spacing for RV and full hookup!

This right away became one of our favorite campsites! There are a lot of trails and the hot springs are a great thing to see! There was a camper near us with dogs that barked all day long and when we talked to the camp host about it, they took care of it immediately! The only drawback is that it is right off the highway so you get some road noise in some of the sites.
