Widewaters Campground is located in the Munising Ranger District, Hiawatha National Forest (4 hrs 10 min northwest of Traverse City, MI) with an elevation of 791 feet. There are a total of 32 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid September. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 18 and 58 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $22.00 per night. Some amenities include boat ramp, swimming. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

This was a great backwoods campground. We were at spot 12 not too far from toilets. There are quite a few hole toilets throughout. You can see your neighbors but there are woods inbetween so it isnt bad at all. The campsite has a picnic table and a fire pit with a grill top & a hook to hang garbage. The facilities includes: A camp host Drinking water area around site 9 & 10 Many bathrooms throughout 1 dumpster Firewood in town & from the camp host are both $9 a bundle.There is a Circle K 12 mins north on H13. The campground has no service. There is a little pond that was nice. Overall it was a great spot to be out in the woods but close to things. 22 mins from pictured rocks, 42 from the big spring. The second night we did have a bear come on the campsite, walking around, sniffing then walking away. We had our food in the car so we had no issues. Either way, Id definitely stay here again it was a really good experience!

Nice campground tucked away in the UP - clean vault toilets and nice spacious campsites. Beautiful location with a nice little lake behind the sites. Plenty of mosquitoes so bring bug spray but a great spot to spend a night.

Lovely campground with nice widely-spaced sites, a nice path along the river with lots of benches, very clean bathrooms. Perfect for tent camping!

Nice quiet campground. Sites were a little close to each other, but other than that every thing was great. Vault toilets very clean.

Campsites are right on top of one another, the entire campground is also pretty loud since the design of it points everyone at eachother

Well kept campground, hosts were friendly and made suggestions for sights to see. Site 17 didnt have view of water but a short walk and you have your own spot on river to wade and relax. It was spacious, towards the end away from everyone, level and across from a new vault toilet. Easy to get to the campground and central to many day trips. Midway General Store is less than 10 minutes away and has everything you need, including pizza and ice cream. Owners are wonderful and definitely stop in!

The campground is laid out well with good privacy between sites. The campground hosts kept the bathrooms cleaned and supplied. There is so much to do here - kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking and just enjoying nature. We always enjoy our stay at Widewaters!

The campground and our site were clean and well kept. The facilities worked just as they should. Our site was level and had a good amount of privacy. While we were there the campground was very quiet and peaceful and the other campers were friendly and respectful.

Very nice! Large, spread out sites with lots of mature trees. Extremely quiet. We were on site 17, toward the end of the loop. There was a trail at the back of our site that led through the trees to our own little spot on the Indian River. Some sites were nearer the river, but we really liked the size & the privacy of site 17. We enjoyed hiking the Brunos Run trail from the campground. We also hiked in the pictured Rocks (gorgeous!) and visited several beaches & lighthouses in the area. Good location for travel to Grand Marais, Munising & Marquette. & last, but definitely not least, the bathrooms were amazingly clean & not stinky.

Quiet, pretty site near the river. One star off because the swimming isn't great. Unfortunately the water was out and we had to drive to another campground to refill all week.

I love this campground. However, this year somehow the solar pump is not working and there is NO WATER available for campers. There is one camp host for FOUR campgrounds, she is by herself, and the work seems to be overwhelming! I do not fault her at all. Not having water, not making sure the pump is replaced somehow seems neglectful. I am so disappointed.

We enjoyed out time here. Sites were spread out enough that we had privacy. Sites were clean and clear of debris.

It was a fine campground but they had no water, with no warning on their website, and expected us to drive 5-10 minutes to another campground to get water. I was supposed to have a site right next to the water spout but instead had to drive…

We had a spot that was along the river and it was beautiful! This was our favorite camping spot on our trip. The only issue we had was that there was an issue with water so we had to go to a different campground to get water. We have US Cellular and had service the whole time at the campground, outside of the campground was spotty

This is a very nice campground. It has drinking water to fill your tanks and a dump station. The sites are nicely spaced, are paved and most of them are shaded.

Quiet campground with adequate privacy between sites. Bathrooms were always clean and never smelled terrible. Nice location not too far from Munising.
