The campsite on the trout bay was serene and peaceful and had a flat area for our tend, bear pole and boxes and amazing view. I gave it 4 stars though instead of five because the pit vault toilet was .20 miles away. After backpacking all that was just a bit too much of a walk for this fifty-something female in the middle of the night! Additionally, the campsite and all of the Trout Bay area is about a third of a mile road walk from the east rim trail. It is an easy walk, but I didn't realize it until we approached the area. The Bay was truly magnificent though.

Absolutely perfect - right on the water, secluded enough, amenities provided are very luxurious. Best campsite on the island!

Right off Superior so that's cool. Go at the wrong time and you'll get eaten by flies

I mean you basically have your own private beach. Sunrise over the water in the morning is incredible.

Gorgeous location right on the beach. Not as private as other campgrounds on the island, but still a good separation from the neighboring site. I would probably not want to go when the mosquitoes and flies are swarming, due to the proximity to the water.
