Special place. Lucky to score a 3 day stay.Remote but close to town. Cabin was cool even with temps in the 80s. The bunk area was spacious and glad to see roller shades as were people that sleep in. Beds were comfortable. It was super quiet. Kitchen/dining area had plenty of storage/space for gear and food prep. Only downside was previous campers did not clean up after themselves. Spent an hour cleaning up after them before we could set up for stay. Hopefully I left it better than I found it for the next guests.

Wonderful Christmas at Tom's Lake with our family. Eben Ice caves were beautiful. Kids enjoyed sledding in areas around cabin. Enjoyed the lake Superior shoreline east of Munising. We had no cell service within 10 miles of the cabin, so it really felt like a retreat.

Cabin is great. The wood burning stove works very well. It was nice to have the wood provided.I look forward to coming back.

One of my new favorites! Quiet and remote. I was at the cabin by myself but can imagine it would be great for a family or group of friends (as long as they do not require electricity and running water).

Excellent stay as always. I installed a new bench top to one of the benches down at the fire pit. I noticed it was in bad shape from our stay last fall. Couldnt find the can to put the ashes in from the wood stove, put them in the fire pit and soaked them. Wheelbarrow in the shed needs a new tire, wont hold air. Thought I should let someone know. Glad to help out to keep that place nice. Love it there, its a beautiful place.

Directions were great. The stove is amazing. Once we got a handle on the damper system we were able to keep it comfortable without having to open windows! People who had been there before left it nice and clean. We visited the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore. The falls are amazing this time of year, with lots of cool ice formations. We will be back.

Great stay! Bring a small boat to try all the lakes in the area. Fishing on Tom’s was slow but had great luck everywhere else! Great family experience!

Always love our stay at Tom's. The wood is always well stocked and the outhouse clean. Always stay in winter and have never had issues with mice or other critters.

Tom's Lake Cabin is a great winter cabin-camping site. The wood stove works well for heating the cabin even on the coldest nights. Plenty of dried firewood stashed in the woodshed. Stove was missing the top damper control lever.
It's nice that users seem to really understand cleaning up the cabin at the end of their stay. Everyone appreciates that!

Very good access with only a short walk with our gear. Beautiful view of the lake. Nice trails nearby for hiking. Wood stove kept us warm during ten degree temps.

Arrived to find the storm door inside handle still missing. Was also missing in 2021. This year the door closer was broken off, with the door being held closed with a log. We jury rigged the door to close using bungee cord. Other than the door threshold needing repair, all was fine. The gap under the doors allowed toads and mice to enter the cabin.

Beautiful location. The nights got really chilly, but the wood was well stocked and the burner kept us plenty warm.

Tom's Lake Cabin did not disappoint - roomy & cozy; nice wood stove; comfy bunks - best of all is the 360 degree view of the surrounding forest. We had plenty of snow & enjoyed snowshoeing right out the door to nearby Swan Lake & at the lovely McKeever Hills XC ski trail (another cabin is located there), just up the road off FH 13.

Tom's Lake Cabin never disappoints. Great snowshoeing on the Pine Marten Run Trail to Rumble Lake. Another great snowshoe along the Indian River also on the Pine Marten Run Trail.

It's a really great place for some peace and quiet. That is when the jetski's are not running all over that little lake . Their are cabins on the other side of the lake that seem to like to party into the wee hours in the morning. That aside. When the people in the other private cabins left Sunday, the rest of the stay was awesome. The cabin is in great condition and we enjoyed just sitting out on the porch when it rained.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
