Only thing that would have made it even more perfect would be able to keep the horses there to.
The cabin itself was a 5 - really nice restoration, and comfortable with 3 bedrooms. Nice, large kitchen, great dining space. The front porch is large and a great place to read and take in the scenery.
The setting I would rate a 4. Nice area, close to the river with interesting cliffs. Fishing opportunities and hiking trails nearby.
As for the experience, it was a 2. There is a popular ATV trail 10 feet off the front porch, and the weekend we went there was a lot of noise and activity. Nearby campers would drive up and park in front to use the cabin's outhouse. It would probably be a much better experience in the winter or on a weekday.
One final note: there is no fire ring at the cabin, so don't plan a menu around fire and charcoal grilled food (like we did!)
