Still lots of snow glad we were prepared. The last tenets did not leave it like it should be. So we chopped lots of wood for the next person and spent hours cleaning and snow removal. Also no TP. The cabin took a long time to heat up as we were warned. I liked the mattresses, they were good quality and not the noisy ones. The pack rat is also pretty cute. He lives in the wood shed.

The cabin smelled like old chronic weed smoke, which is nasty. Nothing against THC, but that old smoke smell is nasty. The sign about a dangerous disease you can get from breathing dried rat urine in old cabins was really off putting too. The cabin was clean for what you can expect from an old rough rustic cabin. There were only single bunk beds and we only stayed one night so we just slept in our bed in our van. The location was beautiful - the stars, the quiet, the dense woods, everything else was so cool. The bathroom was a really nice sturdy concrete pit toilet and the concrete was really beautiful shape and colored to look like a cabin with stone foundation.

It's a great base camp location to explore the Belts. The cabin has a decent refrigerator and the bedroom is a separate room. The flies were apocalyptic in July but only (and oddly) outside from noon to 6 PM. The hordes graciously did not enter the cabin but be prepared to be kinda freaked out by the buzzing.

It's a nice little cabin and we enjoyed the proximity to O'Brien, Deadman, and the Showdown ski area. But there were a few problems with the cabin. But water was leaking onto one of the bunk beds. We moved the bed but one of the mattresses got wet. There is also a poop pyramid forming in the outhouse which is close to the top. It needs to be knocked over or cleaned out. The other concern is that a large ice wall is forming in the back. If it gets warm, I think water will flow into the cabin.

Cozy little cabin that serves its purpose perfectly. Electricity with working refrigerator and oven/stove is great. Wood stove provides heat but it will not hold the fire much beyond 2-hours so plan on putting more wood in a few times a night to maintain some heat.

Absolutely loved the cabin, I found my whole experience there to be almost 'magical!' You could imagine you were in the Adirondack mountains, and in the evening, sitting outside with a campfire, lights glowing from the windows, it looked like a Thomas Kincaid painting. The inside was tidy and clean, very cozy and rustic. The mattresses were surprisingly comfortable. Brought along some mousetraps, but didn't need them. I'll be back!!

Overall a great cabin for sure! Many features most rural cabins don't have. Pleasantly surprised that in addition to electricity there was an oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster etc. We found that other campers across the way were scarce since this location is not really near any populated towns. Only minor nuance was that there were no clear signs indicating the cabin property resulting in off road recreators mistakenly attempting to cut through our camping area. Nothing a few giant stumps couldn't fix though. We typically prefer farther off the beaten path but had a wonderful time nonetheless!

Cabin was in less than favorable condition for clean-up when we arrived. I ask all renters to remember that access to USFS cabins is a privilege and can be eliminated. Please respect the renters that will follow you.

Very nice setting and super easy access. With a late Winter, we arrived into a Winter Wonderland. Beautiful location and a nice cabin set-up. Although wood stove worked well, plan on some time to get it warmed up!

There is no sign for the cabin so it took us a long time to find it in the dark. There were rat traps and an entry in the guest book indicating someone had seen a rat weeks before our visit. We were awoken by the rat gnawing on a log wedged into a hole between the kitchen and bedroom and dragging one of the traps! He kept us up all night and we decided to leave the next day. A bummer because it's a great spot otherwise
The cabin was great. Very cozy and the perfect home-base for our hunting trip. The people that were there before us - not so great. They did not refill the wood box, and did not pick up after their dog around the cabin.
Was wonderful having electric lights, a refrigerator and a stove/oven. There is an adequate amount of space with the two rooms. We enjoyed playing some of the games in the closet. It snowed and was so pretty - Our truck was able to drive right to the cabin despite the snow. The only drawback was a pack rat but traps were set. I would recommend this cabin .
Everything was great except the oven was out of order. No problem, got by with microwave and stovetop. Stopped at the ranger station the next day to report it and the ranger said she would have it looked at that day. These cabins are one of the best things our country makes available to citizens.

Quiet & lovely area in God's nature. Had a couple deer visit the cabin every day. Enjoyed the time greatly.
