Great stay, for being such a small campground the tent spots feel pretty secluded. High winds are likely here so having large rocks to anchor stakes is helpful. Parking is available close to each spot. I had 1-2 bars of AT&T service in campground

Overall, the campsite was clean and had a good location. The bathroom facilities were nice and stocked.Unfortunately, a blizzard moved in which made the overall conditions miserable.I'll definitely be back during nicer weather.

Nice sized spot (site 15), with table and plenty of rocks for tent spikes. Ground is way too rocky to get them in far, so had to tie off on the rocks. Recommend keeping rain fly on even if its sunny, we got rained on and had to cut trip short a day due to flooded tents. For a National Park youd expect things like water fountains or a shower but nope. Other than that, great place to stay if you want to check off climbing Guadelupe peak.

March is a windy, gusting presence. I knew that tent camping would be challenging, so I can't complain much about my tent, whipping and flapping noisily. Which it most certainly did. Nevertheless, I also got to view the Big Dipper as it moved around the top of my tent. I hadn't seen the Big Dipper for some time, and so I did not attach the tent lap. The temperature was pleasant. Morning was cool, and you appreciated the wind ceasing. A cool, mountain awakening and very still and quiet.

The setting of Pine Springs Campground provided magnificent sunsets and sunrises. Very easy access to all trails and super clean campgrounds and support facilities. We highly recommend this location and will return.

Pine Springs Campground: A Perfect Base for AdventurePine Springs Campground was a fantastic home base for exploring Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The sites were well-maintained, offering a rugged yet comfortable camping experience. The peaceful desert setting provided stunning views, and the cool night air made for great sleeping weather. Cooking under the stars was a highlight, with a warm meal after a day of hiking feeling like a well-earned reward. The campgrounds proximity to key trails like Guadalupe Peak and Devils Hall made early morning starts easy, and the quiet, remote atmosphere was perfect for unwinding. Whether tent camping or just looking for a solid base for hiking, Pine Springs did not disappoint!

Being able to climb the highest peak in Texas, along with hiking many other rugged and enjoyable trails make this a wonderful national park. Regarding when is the best time to go, early November has consistently been a wonder season due to warm days, cool nights, and stunning fall color. It's also very worthwhile to make the short drive over to McKittrick Canyon which also has beautiful fall foliage. A day trip to Carlsbad Caverns is also a wonder addition.

There are so many huge flies you can't even sit down and eat your food when camping here. The few water fountains we had nearby were broken and useless long before I got there. Other than that, the views are pretty great.

Nice campground layout. Pick a spot carefully if you are there in the hot months as shade can be lacking, also note some sites are walk in and some are drive up. The hike to the two springs from Frijole TH are really nice.

Park and campsite were very nice. Did a hike to Devil’s Hall on Tuesday afternoon and then did the peak on Wednesday morning. Nice trails and great weather overall. A bit windy at the summit but expected that. Really nice visitors center with exhibits and friendly rangers. Also a nice gift shop.

The park is very busy relative to the limited facilities. The staff was speedy and courteous in getting us checked into the campsites. And very helpful everywhere we met them. They also removed a rattlesnake from under my truck right away.YOU just can't go wrong camping and hiking here.

this was a great campground, especially for the Guadalupe Peak hike! We stayed here the night before and after our hike and could walk to and from the trailhead.

Dont believe the weather man, it is hot in June. Once the sun is behind the mountains the evenings are nice. Know that you will be dry camping and not at a five star resort. My son and I really enjoyed hiking and had an overall great experience. Bring plenty of water and ice.

We really enjoyed camping at Pine Springs campground. Thick vegetation around around campsite gave us privacy. We had a tree next to the picnic table. Picnic table was made of a composite material that did not get cold like concrete tables. The ranger came by on the day we checked in to confirm that we were the correct campers. The restroom in the RV/trailhead area was heated and lighted. Also at that restroom was a potable water spout to refill our jugs.

Your system for booking needs to be greatly improved as far as how you deal with no-shows. After spending 2 nights on one cite, we had to move all of our belonging to another site because our first site had been reserved for that day. The move took us about 3 hours of work. As is commonly the case, it turned out that it was not necessary for us to move because the party that had reserved our first site never showed up. Four hours of strenuous work went down the drain. I suggest that you change your policies and algorithms so that no-shows have an incentive to cancel their reservation so that the site can be opened up. REcreation.gov has every incentive to implement a more efficient, less aggravating system. You could collect the fees twice for the night in question. Also, you should warn visitors that the dirt road that leads to the salt basin is of very poor quality.

some of the sites are pretty far from the road for car camping. Site #15 was a good balance between too far and too close. And it has a nice tree.
