All was great ( except the storm that toppled our tent and soaked our belongings !) The hike up the peak was awesome and the staff was super accommodating. We will hopefully return someday . We enjoyed swimming at the river site by rattlesnake springs also . Thanks to a recommendation from the female ranger !

Great campsite. The park is very clean with trails clearly marked

It was a bit chilly, and we had wind gusts up to 35 mph. That being said, it is a great campground. You are close to all walking trails, the visitor center, yet it's extremely quiet and everyone was respectful. It's a dark sky park and you definitely need to step out of your tent or camper to view the Milky Way and/or night stars. It's amazing.

Fantastic place to be!

Excellent site. It was the off-season, and the Park Rangers told us it would be no problem to reserve the accessible site, which we were glad we did. Flat parking right next to the table and picnic area. (Several of the sites have parking alongside the brush and require a short walk down a path for camping). Since we were sleeping in our vehicle, we wanted to be adjacent to the site.Located next to the Visitor Center, this was the perfect location to camp after a hike at the Smith Spring Trail and then to easily head up the next morning to hike the McKittrick Canyon Trail.

Truly a hidden gem. I just wish there were shower facilities on site.

The Pine Springs campground is a convenient place to camp for quick access to trailheads leading to the highest peaks in the Guadalupe Mountains (including the highest: Guadalupe Peak). Camping is primitive - no running water at the sites and no electricity. However, in the RV camping lot, amenities available include water for bottle refill (much needed in the hot, dry climate!), a bathroom with running water (no need to use the fly infested vault toilet at the bottom of the hill), a sink for washing dishes, and a small picnic area. Shade is almost non-existent throughout. As the campsites are fairly close together and only separated by a brush, sotol, and scrubby trees, privacy (and sometimes quietude) is also limited. However, the mountain view is amazing and the morning bird songs are pleasant. This is definitely more of a roughing it kind of campground! Make sure you reserve a site at least a week or two in advance, especially if you want to stay for several nights or over the weekend as space is limited!

This is the worst national park I have ever been to. The Devil's Hall Trail leads to an unimpressive slot canyon. It is rated moderate, when, in fact, it is strenuous, requiring dangerous scrambling over large boulders for more than a mile. The tent camp site did not have water as promised on the website or food storage boxes. The campsite we were on was a handicapped one. The tent platform, several feet off the ground had no ramp. Thus, only a wealthy handicapped person with a lift on a van, would be able to access it. it is likely the site is not ADA compliant. The camping area for the RVs was nothing but a hideous parking lot. There were no camp hosts at this campground as no one in their right mind would want to live there and receive constant complaints from disgruntled campers.

The experience at Pine Springs was super nice. Everything was well kept, and the bathrooms were well stocked and clean. We loved the close proximity to the trails and to the bathrooms.

Temperatures were mild while the rest of Texas had temperatures over 100 degrees. It also helped that the air was dry and you get a nice breeze as well. Also, the campground host was very welcoming, approachable and kind.

Sky is gorgeous! Tent pads are smooth and elevated! Bathroom and water spigot are near by. Close access to several main trail heads.

Only discouraging thing was camp sites are close together. Woke up to noise from other sites.

Great campsites if you can get one with shade.
