Very nice hiking, small and intimate campground with good views. Are to do dishes needed some updating. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

My family and I enjoyed our time at this campsite. It was quiet and not too close to the other campsites. It was also not too far off the highway but far enough away to not hear the traffic all the time. The views were beautiful and the sun rises were breathtaking!

All was great ( except the storm that toppled our tent and soaked our belongings !) The hike up the peak was awesome and the staff was super accommodating. We will hopefully return someday . We enjoyed swimming at the river site by rattlesnake springs also . Thanks to a recommendation from the female ranger !

It was a bit chilly, and we had wind gusts up to 35 mph. That being said, it is a great campground. You are close to all walking trails, the visitor center, yet it's extremely quiet and everyone was respectful. It's a dark sky park and you definitely need to step out of your tent or camper to view the Milky Way and/or night stars. It's amazing.

Excellent site. It was the off-season, and the Park Rangers told us it would be no problem to reserve the accessible site, which we were glad we did. Flat parking right next to the table and picnic area. (Several of the sites have parking alongside the brush and require a short walk down a path for camping). Since we were sleeping in our vehicle, we wanted to be adjacent to the site.Located next to the Visitor Center, this was the perfect location to camp after a hike at the Smith Spring Trail and then to easily head up the next morning to hike the McKittrick Canyon Trail.

The Pine Springs campground is a convenient place to camp for quick access to trailheads leading to the highest peaks in the Guadalupe Mountains (including the highest: Guadalupe Peak). Camping is primitive - no running water at the sites and no electricity. However, in the RV camping lot, amenities available include water for bottle refill (much needed in the hot, dry climate!), a bathroom with running water (no need to use the fly infested vault toilet at the bottom of the hill), a sink for washing dishes, and a small picnic area. Shade is almost non-existent throughout. As the campsites are fairly close together and only separated by a brush, sotol, and scrubby trees, privacy (and sometimes quietude) is also limited. However, the mountain view is amazing and the morning bird songs are pleasant. This is definitely more of a roughing it kind of campground! Make sure you reserve a site at least a week or two in advance, especially if you want to stay for several nights or over the weekend as space is limited!

This is the worst national park I have ever been to. The Devil's Hall Trail leads to an unimpressive slot canyon. It is rated moderate, when, in fact, it is strenuous, requiring dangerous scrambling over large boulders for more than a mile. The tent camp site did not have water as promised on the website or food storage boxes. The campsite we were on was a handicapped one. The tent platform, several feet off the ground had no ramp. Thus, only a wealthy handicapped person with a lift on a van, would be able to access it. it is likely the site is not ADA compliant. The camping area for the RVs was nothing but a hideous parking lot. There were no camp hosts at this campground as no one in their right mind would want to live there and receive constant complaints from disgruntled campers.

The experience at Pine Springs was super nice. Everything was well kept, and the bathrooms were well stocked and clean. We loved the close proximity to the trails and to the bathrooms.

Temperatures were mild while the rest of Texas had temperatures over 100 degrees. It also helped that the air was dry and you get a nice breeze as well. Also, the campground host was very welcoming, approachable and kind.

I would have given this site 2 stars but the camp host made me give it a 1. This is a handicap site with an elevated pad which doesnt seem conducive to a handicap individual. Most of the tent sites seem to be more so walk in sites so each tent site does not have their own parking space although this site does. I got to the site and there were extreme winds for two days so I didnt set up a tent and car camped instead as the rangers said this would be ok. I placed a yoga mat with rocks at the site so they would know that the site was occupied. The camp host took my yoga mat before my reservation expired. The next day I asked the visitor center if she took it and they called but couldnt reach her. I was 25 minutes away headed to my next destination and they called me to tell me the camp host had it. I turned around and when I arrived at the visitor center it wasnt there and they told me I would have to meet her where she was. She ended up bringing it to me without an apology or explanation as to why she took it. Also the ranger said they could mail it to me but I would have to pay for it to be mailed which makes no sense considering it was taken and not lost. They wasted my time and gas. I also lost a passport book and the first ranger told me no one turned it in. The next day I asked another ranger and he took my contact information in a book for lost/found items, something the first ranger didnt do. Again, one star mainly due to the staff.

We loved camping a hiking in the park! The trail was strenuous for folks like us that live below sea level, but it was not impossible at all! We loved every moment and all the sights along the hike up to Guadalupe Peak! Its definitely a must-do! Best way for me to spend my 30th birthday!

The restroom is clean, having access to drinking water and an area to clean dishes is very convenient. We loved our hike through Devils Hallway! Climbing over the large boulders was fun and the color changing trees were beautiful! We also hiked to the Grotto and Pratt Cabin in McKittrick Canyon. It was a nice easy trail with beautiful flowers, fall leaves and a couple of streams. We had no cell service in the canyon. Guadalupe Mountains National Park is one of my favorite places to stargaze and hike. I will be returning soon!

Make sure that you take water, there is no water available in the camp area. The campsite I was at is #17, a handicap site. The camp pad is elevated, who ever designed and designated this as a handicap spot should be fired. Why put a handicap tent pad elevated? Not by a little bit, it was a lot, and try to navigate it at night.....need I say more.

Finally made it our to Guadalupe Mountain NP in early March. The rangers at the visitor center were help, kind and knowledgeable. On day one made it up and down Guadalupe Peak. That afternoon, the rangers helped me plan an overnight trip from McKittrick Canyon back to Pine Springs. Beautiful hike without a soul in sight. So much fun to be in one of the least visited National Parks.
