This is your standard campground, with limited amenities. Nothing wrong with it, but compared to the (much smaller) campground on the North side of the park (Dog Canyon), this one is not great. Lots of road noise from the nearby highway. Bathrooms are limited, no sink. Water is a far walk (depending on where your campsite is). It gets the job done, however, and there's nothing that makes it unworkable.

Second time at this campground and having a little experience helped us get the perfect spot. Elected to grab a group campsite for our 4-person group. Pretty expensive at $60 per day but came out cheaper than 4 individual sites. Pretty nice being very close to the restroom facilities (The cleanest I've ever encountered BTW). Also very nice to have 4 different trails from the same trailhead. We were able to hit all of them. Hard to find better hiking in February without dealing with snow/ice above 7k feet.

The trail to Guadalupe Peak has been well maintained. The restrooms were clean including the vault toilets. The staff was helpful.

I have been to Dog Canyon several times. It is a nice quiet little campground that I enjoy visiting. This time the WiFi was working so I could get a updated weather forecast and check in with family without using satellite. That was much appreciated.

The group site is very small, We got 7 backpack tent in there close together. Was very windy when we were there, and there is no shelter.

Great site with great views! I will say, not having access to running water close by or at the sink station did make it difficult to host a large group. Other than that, we will definitely be back!

We stayed in Group Site #2. The stench from the close-by restrooms made the area a less than ideal site. Something should be done to take care of the smell or this site should be closed. Not the kind of outdoor experience National park visitors deserve.

The Rangers were extremely patient, informative and supportive. We take groups to the national parks and ongoing guidance from the park staff is crucial to our successful experience. I would recommend the park has to offer for anyone wanting to visit Guadalupe mountains national park.
