We would not recommend this campground for longer than one night, as a stop on your way to somewhere else or to hike in the area. As stated in other reviews, the "campground" aka parking lot shares a parking lot with an extremely popular hiking trailhead, which also means it shares a bathroom. Hikers started driving past our campsite around 5 AM. The bathroom was constantly full because of all the hikers getting ready, changing, using the bathroom, etc. Lots of people car camping overnight, so I'm not sure why we paid to camp and use the bathroom when we could have just done it for free. There is a camp host as you drive in to the campground....never once saw the camp host, and not a single "rule" was enforced. Overall, a pretty awful experience and we are not high maintenance campers. This campground is poorly run, unmaintained, and not worth the money.

If youre looking to be secluded or have a fire this is not it. Its just the parking lot of the trailhead. BUT I didnt hate it, it was okay and great to wake up at the trailhead of the peak. Bathrooms were clean. I stayed in RV parking. I did notice there were lots of BLM sites. Anyway, this was a fine site just depends on what youre looking for! :)

I camped in an RV space which is dry camping but worked well. Most of the trailheads in this NP start at a single location at this campground so if you plan to do some hiking, it is a good idea to plan ahead and book a site, or even get to the park early in the morning, as the parking is limited, and did fill up on Saturday morning.Otherwise - the campground is in a pleasant bowl with beautiful views of some of the peaks. Rest room facilities and water supply are adequate, but for campers, showers are lacking and it may be a good idea to add them with some means of controlling access to registered campers.

Campground is a parking lot for RVs, but has bathroom with running water and water bottle refill station. Has great views of the mountains and many hiking trails (although many are very difficult). Very close to Guadalupe NP visitor center and about 40 minites from Carlsbad Caverns. Not many RV sites, so book early. Good Starlink service.

I was camping in a 30 Airstream. Our campsite was a wide parking space. However, the experience was exceptional. After a hot day, the breeze cooled off the trailer and the temps dropped into the low 60s. The views all around were spectacular and there was a distinct communal feel to the campground. If you are a tenter or traveling in a small vehicle, the campsite variety was good with opportunities for shade. With the 11AM checkout, we were able to visit the Big Room in Carlsbad Caverns, leaving our trailer at the site. This worked out well. We were back in plenty of time.

Yes, site 29 is in a 'parking lot' with no hookups. However, no park campground is more accessible to trails and surrounded by mountain views like this one. People were respectful and it was very quiet. Plus less likely to be caught in storms here.

Parking lot camping.

A parking lot! And not actually level. I would like to see NPS do better.

Basically a parking lot.

Some sites are fantastic but those in the middle dont have dedicated picnic tables, making them less ideal. Otherwise great. Bathrooms are nice and the family bathroom at the visitor center is good for a quick camper sink bath.

Ranger at desk in visitor center not interested in helping. Rv sites are a perking lot with picnic benches far off. Won’t go back.

Beautiful parking lot campground! Clean restrooms, level spots and lovely hiking trails.

Trails are not marked as well as they should be after you come to splits. Beautiful & majestic!

No gas stations or stores within thirty miles. If you do not hike you will not like. We are 75 and hiked each day. Our longest hike 10 miles. Trails moderate to difficult. Views spectacular. Rangers enforce rules well supervised. Parking lot camping space right. Not designed for a camping experience. It all about hiking.
