Great campground with sites spaced well and parking available for each site. Restrooms were clean and close. Trailhead to many great trails just a short walk away. As stated in the park information it was quite windy when we camped in early February but not impossible to navigate or tolerate.

This is for Campsite #2 - very close between the car and the tent site, so it was a great spot for staging our backpack trip. Other sites require quite a walk-in distance, so make sure you check. The tent pad is pretty stony, needed a rock to pound stakes in, but otherwise nice and level. Beautiful view of sunrise and sunset. The water locations in the tent area were all shut off - maybe for the season? We were there in December. However, we found the water at the main bathroom in the RV area. A generator was running non-stop - I think to keep the water pump going? It lessened the enjoyment of the experience, but better to have water than not!

Very nice campground next to the mountains. In April it got quite cold as well as windy.

The park center and tent camping area were immaculate and great places to camp. Vistas scenic. Bathrooms well maintained (thank you!). As we were a day late due to a tire problem that caused us to have to divert to Roswell when Carlsbad didn't have any tires to fit our rims, we do appreciate that you held our prepaid reservation for the duration of our expected stay. Great park....

Had a good stay, stayed two nights at two different sites and hiked Guadalupe Peak and Devil's Hall. Definitely start the summit early, and try an find a site with a good tree, it can be a life saver. Please note you cannot stake or tie tents down, we didn't know this before we got there and had issues with the gusts trying to blow away our tent so we couldn't set up until we intended to stay in the tent for the night.

Great place to be in the park and set up camp. Spaces are limited so you must be diligent in planning ahead. Facilities are modest to minimalist so come prepared. Wind can be an issue if your gear is not made for it or if you fail to completely set up, stake out, and tie down. Due to wind, dust is an issue. But hey, you're camping!

Situated close to trails, but away from trailhead parking. Sites were nicely dispersed, and plenty of camper parking. There was a pit toilet at one end of camp and flush toilet at the other, near trailhead parking. Both were clean. Guadalupe Peak, the highest in TX, trailhead was within walking distance. Gorgeous views! Fresh water and dish sink also provided near trailhead bathrooms.

Beautiful park and great campsites. Be aware that if you arrive after sundown, the sites are pitch black and we couldnt find a site map online. There is a map of the campground sites near the RV parking lots (continue driving straight instead of turning left into the tent campground loop.)

We had a difficult trip because of the weather. Because you have to make your reservations so far in advance, we didn't know there would be thunderstorms the night we were camping or that our hike up Guadalupe Peak would have no visibility. However, the camping site itself was in good condition. There are gender-neutral places to use the bathroom (without running water) at the campsite, and more conventional toilets a short walk away at the trailheads. You're still close to the road, so you can hear the traffic noises, but on a clear night it would be dark enough to see a fair number of stars.

We absolutely loved how close this campsite was to Guadalupe Peak Trail Head! Our only issue were the sand flies. We couldn't put our tent on the designated tent spot as there were 30-50 burrowing sand flies that were pretty ruthless. Thankfully, we had a tree on our site so we were able to put our tent under it. We would definitely come back and camp here again but I think we saw and did everything we came here to do. It was a nice quiet and quant park!

Fantastic Campground. The campground host ranger was available and friendly. Parking was great especially having a spot to easily get onto the main trails in the morning. Bathrooms and water fillups were wonderful. Would highly recommend.
