Nice vegetation

Awesome campsite. The lots are spaced far away enough with enough plant-life that you dont really see or hear your neighbors. There is a potable toilet nearby or its a short walk to a climate controlled bathroom by the RV sites. Super easy to navigate even at nightwe arrived not long after sunset and had no problems finding our site and getting set up.

Beautiful campsites with great views! Well-maintained bathrooms and close proximity to trailhead. Reservation system is simple. Close enough to other to feel safe but far enough away to have your own space.

Pine Springs is a nice, well-kept campground. We stayed in a shaded tent site, which required a short, easy walk from parking. The wash-houses were clean. Trails were easily accessible. I would camp here again.

The most beautiful campground I have ever been to. The sites offered great views of the mountains and lots of privacy. It almost felt like camping in the back country.

This was a good campsite! Had shade from a tree and a flat pad area for the tent. Pretty good privacy from other campers. Went in August and the wind wasnt a bother at all.

We were at Site 12 - not on the parking/road but closer than most. And relatively close to the bathrooms. (Kudos to the cleaning crew - the bathrooms were kept very clean and well stocked. ). This site had some shade on our tent-pad in the early afternoon which was nice.

I booked this campsite which was tent only. You're not allowed o sleep in your car; that's considered an RV and you must park in an RV site. All RV sites were full. The campground was cold and it was very windy. Tenters were bundled up. I decided to stay in an AirBnB on the west side of the Guadelupes rather than be miserable. The site itself looked nice.

Pine Springs is terrific. BUT, I find it incredibly frustrating when people reserve a campsite, then pull a no show, the campsite is then NOT used that night, nor can anyone else use it. I stayed at Pine Springs for 5 consecutive nights but it took 3 separate campsites (reservations) on my part to make it work. Its frustrating to have to break camp, pack everything up, move to a new campsite the next night, and then see that your original campsite actually never got used by the people who reserved it!!! There has to be a solution to this.

Beautiful place! Tent sites well spaced, mostly private. Bathrooms clean. Obviously it would be nice if there were more facilities, like water in the tent area, but its manageable and understandable given the remote, desert location. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip, including chatting with all the park rangers.

Very small campground with limited space for tenting. The RV spots are just in a parking lot with no views or privacy. There are about a dozen or so tent spots but 1/2 of them you need to walk in a bit to get to.The visitor center is nearby with drinking water and toilets.

Loved our site! Was close to all the trails we were interested in hiking and had amazing views of the mountains. Would definitely stay there again.

Caution: Very windy and cold on MLK weekend. I booked 3 nights at the campground and one on the mountain. We did not actually make it to the camp on the mountain . The winds were 60+ mph and the rangers were advising us to turn around. The first night we spent at the campground was the windiest night I have ever spent in a tent. We had to put rocks i the tents to keep them from blowing away. The wind shook the tents all night long. Highly recommend ear plugs or AirPods. No water at the tent camp sites, although there were water fountains, they did not work. Had to go to the RV campground for water and flush toilets. Spent last MLK weekend at Big Bend and it was a much easier hike and camp experience. Do not recommend for inexperienced, unfit hikers and campers.

I think site 12 is the best tent site in Pine Springs! Private, close to parking, close enough to the dumpster and toilets, but not too close to either. Great sunrises over the basin. The camp host is super friendly too! Note: there IS a spigot with potable water at Pine Springs, but it's by the trailhead

A bit of road noise from the nearby highway, but nothing too terrible (bring some earplugs, just in case). Beautiful location.

We had a great campout at Pine Springs Campground group site #2. The site was small but not unmanageable for 16 people. Definitely recommend small tents with a low profile, which helps both with the crowding and the inevitable wind gusts. The tallest tent in our group did suffer some wind damage one blustery evening, so be prepared. Campsite was clean, near the restroom, and had plenty of picnic tables for prepping and eating. All in all, a great campsite and one I hope we'll visit again.

Beautiful site and super convenient to everything! Had super high winds during my stay so make sure you have a durable tent and reinforce it. One downside to the location that I had missed in the description was that you can not pull fully up to your site and it's first-come-first-serve parking for tent campers to some degree. If I had known I would have packed my camping wagon as it's a bit of a walk in and out to some of the sites if you're carrying a lot of gear. Short drive to Carlsbad Caverns too!

I made the mistake of keeping an energy bar in my tent. I know better. I was attacked:-) By two mice that snuck into my tent, apparently they were hungry and needed food. So we talked and they left my tent willingly after catching them by hand. Keep your food out of your tent. Amazing park, amazing staff. Just an amazing place to spend any time.

We had a great site (#12!) with a couple of trees for shade & a beautiful view of the mountains at sunset. Also the staff was so nice/helpful & there was ice available for purchase to keep our beverages & food ice cold!Downside: I was unaware of what a high wind advisory really means. Thats 65 mph+ yall! This advisory was in effect all three days of our visit & really impacted us. The hikes were legit scary being blown almost off the mountains (I had to crawl through a mtn pass b/c my legs were blown out from under me) Also, the wind kept us awake night 1 & it BROKE my tent night 2! Literally snapped the poles into pieces & this was a brand new tent! Had to sleep in the trunk of my car to avoid nighttime critters. And had to cut the trip short by a day due to no longer having lodging. And to add insult, the recreations.gov website refused me a refund for that night. So it has its pluses but we will not be returning.

Plan well ahead - camping reservations are often hard to get. Guadalupe Peak is the highlight with its vast views. The Geology Trail at McKittrick is well worthwhile, but be sure to get a brochure guide from the Visitor Center to better appreciate the fossils & geology. McKittrick Canyon itself is a delight, especially when in fall colors. If you want to visit Dog Canyon, plan on a long drive to get there.
