The campground was beautiful and well-maintained. We appreciated having access to WiFi (available at the rangers station). The various trails offered scenic and easy to moderately strenuous hikes. This was our third camping trip to Dog Canyon, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay each time.

Very remote. Beautiful views. The pad for the site is fairly small - 1 tent only. The wind would pick up in the mornings making it very difficult to cook. Great hiking!

Great to camp out in the lovely valley, only problem is the campsites are really close together which is weird in such a big park. Other than that, the campsite is next to many hiking trails that get you up into the mountains with awesome views! Next time we plan on hiking in from the south side or a through hike from either side/.

Dog Canyon is a great, quiet campground. I spent three days there. There are plenty of trails you can access from the site without driving. The volunteer park ranger was very helpful and great to talk to. I had plenty of room for my set up and parking was convenient. As always, a flush toilet/"real" bathroom was appreciated, as was the wifi available at the ranger station. I'd recommend the site and hope to return.

The campsites were very well maintained. They are pretty remote, which we liked, but that means there are few amenities and it is a long drive to get supplies if needed.

The federal government has fifty bazillion trillion acres of land. Why do I need to be 13.5 feet away from all of my tent neighbors at night? The campground was tiny. What does it cost to raze a spot? Let's do that. Otherwise, Dog Canyon was great.

Site 8 has a beautiful view of the canyon side! It’s conveniently close to the car park but you don’t feel like you are in the parking lot. Other camp sites are very close but that was okay. The drive in is BEAUTIFUL! The bathroom is HEATED. No showers.
Hiking is available right from the parking lot.
Recommend driving 5 vista road.

These campgrounds were some of the nicest I’ve stayed at! Your camp sites are VERY close together, but the tent pads are well kept, the bathroom is clean, and there’s even a large sink where you can do your dishes.
