Likely one of the most beautiful and serence places to camp in all of Texas. Always clean and the volunteer ranger is just a joy to interact with, he's been there almost 20 years.

Remote campground with great access to trails in the area. Very peaceful with great views of the night sky.

It is on the list as one of my favorite parks. Spent 3 nights with my wife and we both loved it. Park was clean and well taken care of. Connectivity however was non existent but if youre looking to unplug then its the perfect spot.

Beautiful, remote location! We had a great visit camping with our toddler. We were pleased to see bathroom facilities with running water and a sink to clean dishes. We'll be back!

Beautiful location. The thing that amazed the most was that the bathrooms have heater set up. The site is gorgeous, clean and well marked. Checking in was easy. Love that the wifi reached to my tent (site 2) and was able to send work emails as I relaxed for the evening

The sights were beautiful. However, there were no bathrooms which proved to be very very challenging.

Great camping area, restrooms were clean and near camp spot. Got a random 6 hour snow fall which was really cool. Park staff were friendly. They also did have wifi at the check in station so you can use wifi calling if needing to check in with family as it is not phone signal friendly. Amazing views surrounded by mountains.

I'm a GS13 Forest Service employee. Seven (yes that's his name) who is stationed at Dog Canyon is outstanding! Very personable and was great to sit and talk to after 3 days on the trail in the backcountry. Great asset!

This is a very remote destination, with the 60+ mile road ending at the campground. Come prepared and enjoy a very special place. The campground is small - a very personal size. Facilities are excellent, everything you need in a compact location. Best of all was the park ranger on duty: super helpful and friendly, he helped facilitate my staying an extra night. He was also helpful in looking at the map and hiking trails, with suggestions. First class operation in an end-of-the-world location.

Really beautiful place. A bit of a longer drive but much less crowded than Pine Springs. Multiple trails to explore from the campground, excellent facilities (running water toilets), very clean. Most sites are too close to each other for my liking, with little to no privacy.

A pretty canyon with a pleasant ranger the time that I was there. Level tent platforms and a clean bathroom. Nice outdoor sink for the dishes. Big nice trails that start closely. I loved the little nature trail next to the campground. All around a lovely place, but fill up your car in Carlsbad. I'm not sure that there is closer gas. You don't want to run out before you get back.
