The camp hosts were wonderful, as always. Kind, welcoming, and on top of keeping the campground clean and functioning. And the campground itself was absolutely perfect and I cannot complain about the upkeep at all.The only reason I did not give my stay 5 stars has to do with the number of people trying to illegally camp or set up for the day at the campground. People took up parking, unloaded stuff into a campsite that was not theirs, and made it impossible to get to the bathroom at times - and this happened daily with folks who were not staying at the campground. The hosts did chase them out when they could, but it was a constant issue. I think having an enforcement range here randomly to ticket folks might deter this behavior.

Ok camping experience. Have to have a parking pass if you want to go and see any anything. Have to reserve shelters in advance if you hike out of Big Creek to a shelter overnight. Eight bucks per person for a backpack shelter. Big creek tent sites went from 17.50 last year to 30 dollars this year, 2023. The men's restroom uses the cheapest grade commercial toilet paper. Eventually blue-collar will be priced out of Big creek. It is what it is.

Nearby creek and hiking. Tent only camping, no RVs.

I may have missed it but didn't realize all the spots require a short walk from where you park the vehicles. Spots are closer to each other but it really doesn't feel that way. I think some of that is because the sound of the creek is there to mute any sounds between campsites. Tent pads were perfect, nice fire rings and tables and clean bathrooms. We will be going back.
