This park is beautiful, clean and quiet. The tent pads are raised and in excellent condition. Best camping experience in the last few years.

Great campsites, beautiful Creekside setting, just enough modern convenience and awesomely scenic and well maintained trails with easy access nearby.Only very minimal complaint, the trails are a bit rocky.Great experience!

Big Creek is still the nicest campground in the park for tent camping. However, now that it is reservable, large groups reserve several sites at once, so you get large parties of campers hanging out until midnight now. It used to be a nice, quiet campground where you could go and unwind and just relax in nature. When we were there we had to deal with a group of people that had reserved 5 of the sites and had about 20 kids running all over the place screaming and crying. Not exactly the experience we had hoped for. Used to be much better when it was first come first serve. Otherwise, still beautiful and somewhat remote.

Excellent tent-only campground with easy access to Big Creek trail. Sound of the river audible from the sites.

With only 10 campsites and no RV sites it is the perfect quiet getaway with great trails and rivers all right there. There is a place to wash dishes, a restroom, and a bearproof garbage container for all the necessities. Beautiful, quiet, and just a lovely place to be at peace.

Would recommend 👌. Sounds of rushing water from the creek will make for a good night's sleep. Beautiful creek side campground.

Spent a week at campsite #7 Always enjoy Big Creek Campground. Quiet, clean and restful. Periods of very heavy rain did not dampen the experience. Two issues I bring to a camper's attention. With all the rain, #7 had some significant and potentially injurious heavy waterlogged rotted tree limb deadfall onto the site. Happened at 3 AM without warning. More overhead dead limbs remained. The host was informed. For all vehicles entering the entire Big Creek area on the single access one lane road, be cautious! Shortly after entering the Park, before the Ranger Station is passed, there are 2 or 3 mini-boulders protruding on the right side of the road. With vegetation they are obscured. Suffice it to say, they provide an accident waiting to happen. All that said, Big Creek is one of my favorite campgrounds in Great Smoky Mountains NP.

Four days of camping. Tents only. Walk-in sites. Clean restrooms. Generally quiet. Relatively close to a number of trail heads, from starting near the campground to a 30 minute drive. Dirt road into campground needs some rehabilitation. Certainly would camp here again.
