Clean, well maintained sites with real bathrooms. Lovely campsite. Trails accessible directly from campground.

No host was present while we were there, though. We didn't have any issues with that, but there were instructions to check in with the campground host, which we could not do. Also, our site was tagged for the people before us, but nobody updated the board at the campground with the new names for the weekend guests. Someone did come to clean the bathrooms before we left, though. Very well maintained.

Nice quiet tent camping. Hosts were very friendly and available to campers. Restrooms were kept very clean. Will definitely return!

The Campground was beautiful and very clean! The location was super private but beautiful. The sound of the rushing water was the best part. I would 100% be booking again for the next time I come!

Staying at Big Creek was so much fun! I went with a bunch of my friends and we all want to come back to explore even more than we did during our stay. There are many trails that go out from this area and one of them (Mount Sterling Overnight Trail) has so many pretty waterfalls along it. This whole area is amazing and even if you want a chill day, hanging out by the creek is the perfect way to chill out.

The site is beautiful. You park your cars in a lot not at your specific site. This isn't a big deal but it does mean that you haul your stuff a bit further. The setting is spectacular. The creek is beautiful. And the swimming hole is a perfectly close hike. Loved it.

Nice, quiet campground, only tents and only 12 sites. Very good hiking trails directly accessible from campground. Serviceable bathhouse, but particularly clean. No hot water, no showers. Access roads not bad.

Big Creek is a very nice campground. It only has 12 sites. It is a very peaceful place to relax. It's easy to leave the world behind and enjoy nature.Big Creek trail is awesome. The Trout fishing is good.

The campground was beautiful and close to the creek. The bathroom has two toilets and one sink. That is it. There are two trails you can hike directly from the campground area and more a short drive away. Do not expect to have cell service in the campground.

This campground is not a drive-up or hike-in campsite, it's right in between - you park in a parking lot and walk down a short gravel walkway to your campsite. Nestled in a forest of healthy, mature trees right next to a constantly flowing stream, this campsite is so beautiful and peaceful. The campsites are a bit close to one another but I had great neighbors during my stay. There is zero cell reception. The bathroom with running water was a nice amenity and they kept it clean and full of TP as well! Not terribly far from a store or restaurant but it feels like you've gone miles and miles into the wilderness. Loads of white water rafting nearby in the summer. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to the Smokies!

be prepared to carry your camping equipment some distance. We didn't find that a hindrance, but some might. The small and closeness of the 12 site campground made for was a very friendly environment. We connected with several people. Enjoy the rush of the river, it is very close by. We also saw a mama bear and cub(s) walk by the campground. They were very uninterested in us. It is great that the campground is so close to 2 great hiking trails. We will definitely return to this wonderful place.

The campground was gorgeous, and it was my first visit here. We did multiple hikes (Baxter.Sterling Loop, and Mt Cammerer), and it was a perfect base camp. The cons: The men's flush toilet was weak, and on day 3 (Monday, Labor Day) it was plugged up entirely.I also had trouble Sunday night with a Copperhead that was very persistent it wanted to get back to the tentpad at site #2. Was that its home? If so, I'm not comfortable with that. Btw, I did not injure the snake at all, but I did have to use a long stick to push it back a safe distance.
