Quiet, beautiful place. Saw many mushrooms, some elks. There is a creek right by the campground, the water is refreshing. The bridges to the trails closeby were broken, but crossing the creek was fun. Careful if it rains. Bathrooms were clean.

Absolutely gorgeous campsite with a peaceful, running stream right nearby. One of the most relaxing sites I've been too, despite it also being really full of other campers. Definitely lots of wildlife to see too!

Love Cataloochee...it's on the quieter side. But watch out for the elk. One of them was determined to make off with my camp chair. Another camper came to my rescue & was able to shoo the elk away.

100% will be back. Some things I had a hard time finding online and would have been helpful to know before our trip:-There is a utility sink (cold water only) for washing dishes and dumping grey water by the bathrooms.-The fire pits have grill/grates on them.-The bathrooms have flush toilets and cold water sinks with hand dryers (no paper towels).-We only saw one bear bin food storage box, by campsite #1. -Sites were rocky and muddy. It's a very shaded area so if it's damp, don't expect it to dry out!

good flat campsite, right beside the creek that is deep enough to tube. clean bathrooms and great bike riding all around.

This campground provided a lovely quiet space for us to relax and unwind at. The wildlife here was phenomenal as were the fellow campers. Theres a safe little creek to cool off in right at the campsites. We also enjoyed viewing the older buildings from when there were once people living in the area a hundred years ago!

Very nice for tent camping. I enjoyed the backwoods experience with no WI-FI and almost no phone reception! This was the best part about it not including the awesome river right beside the campsite. I will definitely be back!

Lovely, remote campground with easy access to trailheads. Attentive camp host and nice bathrooms. Small and quaint with some creekside sites and quiet overall. I did hear a generator or two here and there (a no-go in my book) but expected I suppose since no hook-ups. Will definitely return.

Beautiful campground right by the water with lots of great hiking nearby. We saw elk, too, which was the cherry on top of an otherwise perfect stay.

This small campground was well maintained and very peaceful. The campsites are very close together and it would be nice to have a little more privacy , but the other campers were a observant of 10 p.m. quiet time. When we arrived the host had allowed people picnicking to use the campsite. We were tired after driving 3 hours and had to wait for them to pack up. I felt picnickers should not be in the campground because it decreases the safety with unregistered guests on site. Every one in the campground should be accounted for by name and home address. I felt less safe and worried about my belongings while I was away from my campsite. I feel a separate pick nick area similar to Cades Cove and others that have a separate area without allowing transient people in the campground should be considered.
