Me and a buddy drove 20hrs to come here and we were not disappointed. The views are beautiful and we were lucky enough to see a bear during our stay. Only regret is not booking a longer stay.

We had a wonderful time at Headwaters campground! The campground was full, but didnt feel chaotic or over busy at all. Bathrooms were clean, staff was helpful at check in, campground was quiet. We moved our campgrounds to Headwaters after we werent able to get an RV spot at Colter Bay, and we were happy it worked out that way once we were in the park! Perfect location between the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone!

Overall we had a good experience. The bathrooms were the best of any campground Ive stayed at. The two things that could have been better:1. Fewer mosquitos (not much that can be done about that, unfortunately)2. Less dusty - it would have been nicer if the roads in the campground were paved.

Headwaters is an excellent choice for camping. I stayed for four nights total in both tent camping and in a non-electric cabin. The location is farther north than most other lodging and camping, so plan for extra driving time to get to popular spots in the middle or south parts of the park. It is very close to the northern road going to Yellowstone. I enjoyed the distance away from the crowds, the quiet roads and setting in the north, and the peaceful environment. Nice facilities, including clean public restrooms and warm showers, laundry on site, grocery, gas and restaurant. Wonderful stay, and I would still choose to come back, even though it is farther away from everything just because it was more peaceful. Thanks to the workers who were very friendly and helpful!
