The site was large and level, but that is where the good points stop. There was no shade, the picnic table was on a steep slope and on the back right side of the spot. Our spot was on the east corridor, which meant constant vehicle traffic up and down the road, and next to the main path to the amphitheater. The campground has the worst filling/dump station I have seen in a NPS campground (of CG's that had dump/water facilities) in over 40 places I've visited. It's a single lane loop even though there are two dump spots, so really only 1 vehicle at a time. The concreate and paving is a mess around the actual dump holes and doesn't slope toward the drain, so waste is everywhere -- I had to stand in over an inch of feces water to dump. You also have to check in with the office before dumping, and they run out of spots late in the day. The water fill spot is after the dump stations, so you have to wait until the dumpstations are clear to pull up for water. The water flow is ~1.5 gals/min according to my gauge. I waited 45 min. for the motorhome in front of me to finish. There are spigots in front of some bathrooms and I suggest those for filling.

We arrived at 8:10 pm. The site was rated 22' but was barely 17' (no pictures on line). The office closed at 8:00. The manager said if we couldn't fit, we had to leave and we should have gotten there before 8:00 pm. They apparently have at least two sites per loop open with a red tag for problems. We eventually got one of those sites, the longer one stayed vacant that night.
