GTNP is a very big park and Gros Ventre is at one end of the park, closer to Jackson and far from Jackson Lake. It is a lovely campground with big trees that protect it from the winds that come across the valley. On the west side of the park one can see the Tetons. The sites are well maintained and the park staff were helpful and efficient. I was in F loop with a tent. There were no generators in this tent loop although there were large RVs, small camper vans and other tents. It was reasonably quiet and peaceful. Toilets, cold water, a tap, a place to dump water from doing dishes. I was able to drive into the very small town of Kelly and then back out on to the main park road, getting beautiful views across the valley and missing some of the busier routes. The drive to the Moran entrance and Colter Bay was a solid half hour. Jenny Lake in the afternoon was too busy to enter. As always, if you plan your visit and get up and out early you will be successful. Otherwise, be patient!
