We enjoy staying at Gros Ventre campground. We try to stay two nights here and two nights at Colter Bay. This location is best for going to southern attractions in Grand Teton Park. Its handy for dawn and dusk visits to Schwabacher Landing, cruising Gros Ventre Road for moose, driving quickly to Moose to explore the visitor center, attractions there such as the Murie Ranch and Menors Ferry and of course to enjoy pizza at Dornans Restaurant. This particular site was very close to a restroom which we deem a plus. It accommodated out Marmot 10 by 10 tent. This year the restroom appeared to have been recently spruced up. It even seemed cleaner.

Great site and the short walk to the River was a treat! Thank you to the staff that makes sure this campground has very clean restrooms!

great campground. Hosts were nice and ready to talk as soon as you arrived. They sold firewood there. This spot is right across from flush toilets so lots of people walking by. Light of the bathroom is kind of bright, you can maybe block it with your car. Access to the river right across from the site, we heard moose talking all night but did not see any, eerie sound. Not too buggy but near a stream so bug spray is a must

Super good campground, only 5ish minutes away from Mormon Row, 15ish minutes away from Schwabacher Landing, and 30ish minutes to Jackson. The night we stayed it rained so the ground was all muddy so that kinda sucked but bathrooms were generally clean (clean as you can get for camping restrooms) and right across from our campsite so that was really nice. We got there after check in hours and it was super easy and quick, we just signed a clip board and highlighted our name to show we checked in and that was it! Super close to the Gros Ventre river as well where you can spot some moose if youre lucky! Comes with bear box, campfire pit and table so overall Id rate 10/10. I really loved how close it was to Jackson as well so we could go eat breakfast after watching the sunrise :)

Gros Ventre campground is one of my favorite places to stay in the park - even though they charge nearly double the cost of staying in Yellowstone. It is conveniently located to all of the major park views as well as Jacksonso it is worth it.Do I wish they had a shower? Of course. Not sure why folks think that Tenters need to stink in order to enjoy the outdoors. :)

Gros Ventre campground was a great spot. We saw a lot of moose! (Even had one come and rub its antlers on our tent!) As exciting as that was, it's a good reminder to be aware that moose can be just as dangerous of a threat as bears. They are very cool to see, but keep your distance. We got extremely lucky that the agitated bull didn't decide to kick our tent when well-meaning neighbors yelled to scare it away. If you plan to camp here, you will very likely see moose and possibly have them in your camp. Be prepared if you have dogs or small children to be on alert. Overall, we loved our weekend and can't wait to go back!

Wish there had been showers.

While the map makes the campground look close to the park services, the visitors center, etc. are all up a very steep trail, so you'll likely drive up there.

Plenty of elk.

Wish there had been showers.Moose are plentiful and there are fine views of the Tetons at sunset and sunrise. Shady campsites. Good location for if you're interested in visiting Jackson as well as the National Park.
