We dry camped at site 301 five nights with a 23 Winnebago EKKO and Jeep. The facilities were close and clean.Volunteers at reception were professional and thorough. We recommend the nightly ranger campground talks. Also, the ranger talk/walk to Taggart Lake was great as was the ranger talk/walk to Moose Pond near Jenny Lake. The walk included a grazing moose at the pond. The drive east to Slide Lake was nice including viewing Pronghorn Antelope. The drive north to Mormon site was great for photo ops.The forest fire smoke from western Montana was a negative.

I've been going to Gros Ventre since the 1970s, and am always pleased with what I've found. This trip was no exception. The scenery is unsurpassed and the June wildflowers were incredible. The site I had was large and accommodated my pop-up camper trailer easily. Sites are nicely placed, so that even when the campground population is large, I never feel as if I'm tripping over my neighbors. I particularly appreciate that there are loops where generators are prohibited. So many campers value quiet - myself among them - and the lack of intrusive generator racket is delightful. The only complaint I can muster is that on this trip, for the first time in many years, the park administration did not schedule a campground visit by a moose. It must be a budget thing ... but I'll certainly try again!

We arrived late, so we could not check in. However our reserved camp site was marked so that was really nice and easy. I only give 4 stars as the camper barely fit on the paved area. We had to back up all the way and were still a little on the street. I am not sure if we just got a "small" campsite, but that was a bit tricky. Other than that the campground was nice, quiet and clean. The firepit with BBQ was great! We had a wonderful stay

The man and woman who were checking people in were wonderful! Very helpful and pleasant. The campsite was very well maintained and the bathrooms were clean.
