There was plenty of spaces available. I just dont like the fact that we have to register for a site through Rec.gov. Its always been nice to drive up and acquire a site when you need it instead of HAVING to plan ahead.

Large campground with nice facilities. Don't forget to take a walk along the river. Saw a moose while walking.

I'm sorry about missing your campground. I had wanted to see a bear. We were unable to stay due to 83 yr-old husbands' acute altitude sickness. It required 5 phone calls to speak with someone (we kept losing contact after 1-15 minutes) and cancel the reservation. She stated she would put in a request for refund due to illness, however I haven't seen a refund at this point. Please look into this for me. Thank you, Phyllis Wilbur

This was the worst campsite we have ever been to. We had a tent and had to put it on the steaming 90 degree tar where we parked our car, as the ground was so uneven and had little bushes everywhere, that we couldnt set it up any where else. Bathrooms were just ok as far as being clean

One of our favorite campgrounds in the park next to Lizard Creek. Great location close to Jackson, but you dont feel like youre on top of your neighbor. And of course the river coming through the campground is an added bonus!

The location of this campground is very convenient to visiting the NP and to the town of Jackson. Gros Ventre campground was bigger and nicer than I'd expected. The sites are spaced out pretty well and many (but not all) have some shade from trees throughout. Our site happened to have no shade and it was very hot (in the 90s) while we were there. Thankfully we stayed in the generator loop and were able to run the generator for a bit before bedtime to cool the camper off so we could sleep. The restrooms are clean. It's unfortunate that they have no showers, that would have made this location perfect for a visit to Grand Teton National Park.

Even though the pandemic makes everything a hassle, the staff member we dealt with was friendly and shared the important information with us including the bear warnings.

We loved our stay at Gros Ventre campground. It is very conveniently located to the Elk Refuge, Jackson, and the Jenny Lake area. The bathrooms were very clean and the campground was not busy at all in April. Look out for moose, a mom and baby moose walked frequently around the campground and at our site.
