The Gros Ventre Campground is a nice spot to stay to enjoy sites and activities throughout the southern end of the park, and Jackson. Proximity to the river and nearby trails is also a plus. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a no generator area which is a plus.

I picked the four nights I wanted to camp, and after I put in the payment, the reservation was for 3 nights with checkout on my 4th day. If you try to correct to get the 4th night, you risk losing the entire reservation. It should be noted at the top that you need to pick an extra day for checkout. We did appreciate paper towels in the restrooms, and the ability to check in after 5 pm using the highlighter on our name.

The campground is close to the sites. I really have to commend the staff on going out of their way to help us. We had an issue with our site and they jumped in to help us resolve it. They were VERY strict about the check out time which we understand given the amount of people on the campground but I think a half hour grace period should be in place. No complaints at all for a huge campground. Were more dispersed/wild camping people. We wanted to be close to the sites so it was worth it. Again the staff were great!

The campground is run down. Infrastructure is not being maintained. Costs to stay have grown many times over the years with no changes improvements to, or expansion to the campground. Meanwhile the management and administrative infrastructure at park headquarters has grown EXPONENTIALLY. Many times what it was when I was a kid. And that's how the leftists who run our land management agencies want it. If they could put a 10 ft fence with razor wire around this entire park and keep everyone out except themselves they would do it.
