We camped for one night with a tent at Gros Ventre Campground in mid-June 2024. This campground is well-maintained. It is situated in a Cottonwood grove along a stream so there is some shade, but unfortunately it is situated so that you have no view of the Grand Teton range at all because there is a grassy hill blocking your view. Also, there is little to no privacy between the different campsites, and we even had strangers walking through our campsite in plain view. Maybe this place is better for parking your RV for awhile, but it is not the best place for a tenting experience. I booked late, so was grateful to get a campsite at all.

We camped overnight at Gros Ventre in our 40 motor home and were extremely pleased that it was big rig friendly, unlike most US Forest Service campgrounds. It was well laid out and very wheelchair accessible. We will definitely return for a longer visit next time.

Site EC 1 use of generator all day not annoying. Left 3 Square leveling blocks on site for three days when went to sight see. Fourth day they were stolen. Sadly American.

Excellent campground, perfect site, plenty of time to run a generator and keep batteries charged.

rec.gov system needs to be improved. campers were moving every night to get a space. size of rvs need to be limited.

Because we made reservations late we had to change sites over the five days we were there. Two of our sites were great. We have camped in this campground many times over 30 years. All the sites are good with the exception of those sites on the far western end of the campground. Site 231 is especially poor and really should be redesigned. It is very short and steep and because it rained it was a big mud puddle. We reserved that site not realizing it's shortcomings. The description says it's for vehicles up to 26 feet. We have a 25 foot vehicle and it didn't fit. The site was so bad that for those two nights we went to another campground.
