This is another very well kept up Federal Campground. We had a surprise as I had looked at a picture of the campsite I booked on line which showed plenty of room for us to unhook and park our truck next to our camper on a dirt pad, but when we got there they had recently asphalted the spot and it was not as wide as I expected. We had to really squish the trailer in and park across the front. We barely fit. We saw that most of the trailers around us took up their spots too. Neighbors were close but we had a little space between us. The bathrooms were nice and the camp hosts were very helpful and sweet. We stayed here for 4 nights and then went up north to Colter Bay campground. We had stormy weather most of the time even in August. It was also smoky from the fires also many of the days. Gros Ventre feels a bit off the main tourist route which was great. There are fields north of it with Pronghorn and Buffalo. It is close to Jackson, which was fun to visit for some live music and groceries. You can also find a nice bike ride right from it with hardly any car traffic. We also enjoyed walking over to the river about 200 meters from the campground and trying to find Moose and Elk. The river was very brown, swift and cold, so we did not go in. We camped in a 45' long rig with a 24' Travel Trailer and a 21' Truck.

Have you ever driven into a city dump? That’s what this felt like. Have you ever lived in An apartment where the walls were so thin you might as well have been living with your neighbors? Just camp here the sites are so cramped and in top of each other there is no point on being in the great outdoors! The absolute worst campground and camp site I’ve ever camped at.
