Great campground, near major hikes.

this section of the park is the best part of Glacier. it was certainly stressful finding a last minute spot for this campground, but with lots of refreshing rec.gov, i was able to snag a site 2 days before check-in (dont lose hope if youre looking for one, too)! it seems like some sites are way more shaded than others, but you could string up hammocks in most! pretty views of the mountains above the trees throughout. the campers across from us had a female moose in their camp and they were kind enough to let us know so we could come view it from a safe distance! volunteer ranger jane was super sweet and informative! such easy access to the trailheads of some of the most spectacular hikes! bathrooms are outdated, but have hand soap. paid showers near the camp store, but we did not use them. potable water. no at&t.

Beautiful campground. One of the nicest Ive stayed at. Clean restrooms, nice clean campsites, and spectacular views. 100% would stay here again.

Camping within the national park was a great opportunity to see wildlife. It was clean and convenient with plenty of space between campsites!

The campground is in an amazing location, with several beautiful trails starting here (Grinnel Glacier, Grinnel Lake, Iceberg lake, Ptarmigan Tunnel, Swiftcurrent pass). Things to keep in mind: campfires are often prohibited in summer months due to fire hazard (and it can get really cold and rainy also in summer) and no showers are available (closed due to COVID in 2021). Bear storage boxes are not present at each site, they are in shared areas.

We have been coming to MGCG for over 20 years. It is a truly beautiful place. Trail heads are close by, When the concession is operating at full capacity there are laundry and shower facilities as well as a reasonable resturant and very good camp store. The ranger staff is excellent. Looking forward to next year and hoping the Covid insanity has finally gone away.
