We stayed at site 74 for 3 nights. Despite the dumpster we really enjoyed this site. Its right next to the stream and we could see mountain goats grazing in the evenings from our lawn chairs with our binoculars. There is a fresh water supply at the site and there is wifi nearby at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. We also ate dinner at the restaurant there one night and it was good. There was bear scat on the gravel bar in the stream but other than that no issues with bears. We have a 28 travel trailer with one slide out and a 2-bike rack and a GMC Sierra 2500 AT4. Everything easily fit into this spot. This spot received full Sun so our solar panel kept our refrigerator going.

Site 74 was absolutely the best campsite in one of the best campgrounds we've stayed in. Beautiful riverside plot with open space but still relatively private. The campground itself was well appointed with clean and well-functioning bathrooms. There was some bear activity while we were there, and the friendly and diligent Ranger team stayed on-site making us feel safe and informed. On a 2+ week adventure across the NW USA & Canada, this was definitely our best stop. Highly recommend!

The Park Rangers are not prepared for, and are unable to properly manage a campground. Zero customer service or ability to help campers. The Rangers are primarily interested in accommodating the needs of the local bears rather than human visitors. Amenities such as pay showers and laundry were not available and no notice was given. No internet available at the Hotel/Lodge. The road going into Many Glacier was under construction and in very poor shape. Tickets were needed to get on the Going to Sun road, "unless you have a reservation at a campground" per the press release made by the Park Service. **Except a reservation at Many Glacier, we found out when we got there, that does not count. None of this was communicated to me prior to arrival. Park Rangers were unable to answer basic questions like "Can you tell me what my site number is tomorrow?" Ranger: "Sorry we do not have that information, you will need to meet us at the greeting tent tomorrow" (btw they are not at the tent until about an hour before you are supposed to move out). Also I was told: "If you need to change your reservation, you will need to drive to Babb and get a cell phone signal then get on rec.gov to make a change to your reservation." The Rangers are not "Authorized" to move someone to vacant site, or accept payment for a walkup site, or anything useful really. The Rangers performed hourly inspections around the campground and issued warnings for everything they saw, for example dumping cooler water next to a hot stinking dumpster because it could "attract bears". I understand being strict on leaving food out, but as long as there are ripe stinking dumpsters, I don't see how many of the rules are very effective. Again, the Rangers are not able to manage a campground. One of the most beautiful places on the planet, but the experience was ruined by a Ranger staff who care more about the bears than the people who have paid to be there and experience the Park.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
