While is it tricky to get a campsite at Many Glacier, it is well worth the effort. The campsites are average size with a picnic table and fire pit. There are flush toilets on site. Next to the campground is a nice cafe where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also purchase a shower for $4. The real beauty of Many Glacier campground is that you have immediate access to a variety of hiking trails that take you through beautiful canyons, along mountain streams, to vistas that are very special. The Ptarmigan tunnel trail is really beautiful. It is about 11 miles round trip. At the turn around point you walk through a tunnel through the mountain and emerge on a different overlook that is stunning. Deep canyon walls with a view of a glacier. It is quiet and peaceful at Many Glacier and a hiker's delight.

It's a lovely campground, and the host was friendly and I really appreciated the bear safety precautions and education. The downside of this campground is the noise. I was expecting some peace and quiet and that was not the experience I had. From sunrise to sundown there were car alarms going off, children screaming, diesel engines running continuously and the usual generators from RV's (the limited hours for generators was helpful). Also, people cut right through my campsite numerous times to get back to the parking lot. Loved the location, as I could walk to all the trailheads.

I am lucky to get a campsite here because it's very hard to get one, even in the late season. Beautiful setting and convenient to all activities. In late season of mid September, so no other services such as stores, pay-shower from near by hotel/lodge.
