This campground is very quiet! We were there on a Friday night in July and it wasn't full. Our site, S-22 wasn't the best layout, but we walked around and saw that there were lots of great sites available. I think they were held for day-of reservations because when I booked, I didn't have those options. We were only staying one night, so it didn't matter too much which site we had. Pit toilet areas are clean. The trees are so dense that an 88 degree day felt very comfortable. The hosts are kind and will drop off your firewood after you've paid. $10 per bundle.

The host was friendly and kept the camp ground in great shape. The camp ground only has 30 sites and many are perfect for tents. It was quiet and close to the city of Trout Lake. It has several points of interest near by, including the natural bridges and ice caves.

Camp was clean and hosts were wonderful. The fact that generators are in every campground these days is so disappointing

Overall, wonderful campground. The camp hosts were fantastic, and the grounds and bathrooms were kept extremely clean. We stayed in spot #11, which I would ONLY recommend if you are part of a group camping at group site #12. These two sites are way too close for comfort, especially when one is meant for a large group. We walked around the campground and found that most other sites were large and relatively private, so we were just unlucky with our selection. As others have stated, the bees can be pretty aggressive, but we had a canopy with a mesh screen, so we weren't bothered. Plenty of stuff to do in the area...ice caves, natural bridges, lakes for fishing, and just general exploring. We will be back!

We loved staying at this lovely, quiet campground with our daughter and her family. The campsites were fairly nice -ours didn't have a great tent space, but we made it work. The other site accommodated the motor home well, but the table sloped downward at one end so the campstove wouldn't sit level. We discovered dense areas of huckleberry bushes behind both campsites, loaded with ripe berries, which we picked and put in pancakes. Yummy!. We appreciated the friendly camp host who came by and let us know campfires were allowed in the fire rings. The bathroom was clean and there was a water spigot nearby. Note: The garbage dumpsters have extremely heavy lids -it takes great effort by one person to lift and hold them up up while a second person is needed to throw the trash in. This campground was a great base while we explored the Ice Cave and walked along the trails at the collapsed lava tube and natural bridges all along it. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Langfield Falls, a very impressive waterfall. But the main reason we chose to camp there was so that we would not have so far to drive to get to the trailhead for our hike to Bird Creek Meadows. We did this hike with our children numerous times when they were young but this is the first time we've been able to go back since the fire. I was worried that the hike wouldn't be very pretty because of all of the burnt trees, but in fact the trees were a beautiful silver. They added a unique beauty to the lush meadows which were carpeted with paintbrush, asters. lupine, monkey flower, fireweed, mariposa lily, rosy spirea and more. We were so happy to be hiking there again, and eating our lunches at Hellroaring Overlook. . The mountain didn't fully reveal itself while were there, but just as we reached Trout Lake, the mountain became visible, much to the awe of those who hadn't seen it before. It was a great trip!

Peterson Praire is always delightful. Joe and Cathy, the hosts are great. Very helpful and friendly and they keep the camp and toilets very clean.

This was a great campground. The hosts were very friendly and were often seen driving around the grounds keeping everything in order. Site privacy can be hit or miss with some sites closer together or close to the road, and some more set back on their own. Not a big deal unless the folks next door are running a generator, or making a lot of noise. The bathrooms were as clean as one would expect a vault toilet to be. There were dumpsters at the front of the grounds to drop your trash bag on the way out. The location is the next best thing about this campground. It's very close to a variety of caves, Goose lake, a hike around some natural bridges (unlimited huckleberries at the right time of year). This was my second time camping here and both were great experiences.

This is the second time weve been to this campsite and we absolutely love it! My only complaint would be the expense of the wood bundles haha
@KieranD2A30DAF · Camped on Jul 22, 2024 at Campsite #9
Beautiful forest, with shaded and spacious campsites, and very little mosquitoes. They were spaced a little close for my own preference, but still had plenty of space between sites. Only complaint would be that its close to a road that gets a fair bit of use during the day, but it was very silent at night.

Great camp hosts and clean bathrooms. Some road noise.

Nice campground. Shady, ample sized sites.

I have stayed at Peterson Prairie Campground for years, so we can pick huckleberries. Cathy and her husband keep the place very clean, and are very helpful. I would stay here more, but during the camping season sites are hard to get especially on the weekends. We have found it much easier to stay Sunday nights, and return home on Mondays. I would highly recommend this campground.
@MarvinF1209065 · Camped on Aug 14, 2023 at Campsite #7
We did not arrive in camp. We stayed home. Fire danger was high at home. We stayed because it was too hot and camping would have been uncomfortable and we were not ready to leave home with the fire risk.

Kind of dusty. Otherwise, a perfect stay! The camp host was very friendly and all the other guests were quiet and respectful. Bathrooms were spotless. We had a great time.

The host were no hospitable and frankly very rude and we felt like they were harassing us because we are from California. I have been going camping with my family there for the past 4 years and have never been treated this poorly!

The campground was well maintained as well as quiet.

Late summer camping once the schools have started is the best. The campground was nearly empty. Very quiet except for some ATV campers across the ravine from us who talked really loud, but they followed the quiet hours. It’s a very, very dusty campground but close to trails
@Stephanie52540 · Camped on Sep 3, 2022 at Campsite #23
Nice spacious campgrounds, walking distance to some cool sites
@MichaelH990269 · Camped on Sep 2, 2022 at Campsite #11
The campground is exactly as it is advertised. We had some trouble with bees around meal times but were pleasantly surprised to not have any mosquitoes. There are so many great things to do in the local area, from really challenging hikes to easier ones, such as the Ice Cave and Natural Bridges, which are so close to the campground. The camp hosts did a great job of keeping the toilets clean and stocked with toilet paper.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
